yORKS :- BAZAR 7 & JPTI FORCED CONVECTION APPARATUS *) AIM :- To find heat transfer coeff. of forced convection in internal Pipe flow. APPARATUS :- The apparatus consists of blower unit fitted with the test pipe. The test section is section to measure the air temperature, Test pipe is connected to the delivery side of the blower along with the orifice to measure flow of hit through thé pipe. Input to the heater is given through a dimmerstat & measured by voltmeter & ammeter. A temperature indica’ provided to measure temperatures of pipe wail in the test section. Air flow is measured with the help of orifice meter & the water manometer. fitted on the panel. SPECIFICATIONS 1) Delivery pipe diameter d= 0.036 m 2) Length of test section Te = 0.45 m 3) Blower - 1/3 HP, Single phase with motor. 4) Orifice diameter - d= 0.014 m 5) Dimmerstat - 6) Voltmeter -. 0-300V 7) Ammeter ~ 0-5A 8) Thermocouples a Chromel - Alumel - 0- 300°C 9) ‘Temperature Indicator s te Nichrome wire heater wounded on test 10) Heater , pipe (Band type) PROCEDURE:- Start the spply. ; - , a Start the lower & adjust the flow by means of valve to some desired difference in fully) anometer level.( preferably open control valve : ; | 3 Start the heating of the test section with the help of dimmerstat & adjust desired i (100 V) input with the help of voltmeter & ammeter.( 0 , ; peo readings of all 8 thermocouples at an interval of 5 minutes until the dy state is reached. z 5) Also note down the heater input.( in terms of Voltage & Current) PETH ROAD, MASUR-415 106.
