Methodology

Equipment

- Volumetric tank
- Head inlet
- Head outlet
- 1 inch diameter smooth and rough pipe
- Water tank
- U-tube manometer

Apparatus

- Stopwatch

Material

- Water

Procedure

- The U-tube manometer set up in the equilibrium condition and the head inlet and
outlet set up at the smooth pipe for the first experiment.
- The water pump switched on and the water started to flow in the pipe.
- The experiment started with the 0.4m 3/h, 0.6 m3/h and 0.8m3/h of flow rate that
controlled based on the volumetric tank.
- The difference of pressure between of the outlet observed based on the
manometer and recorded
- Then, water started to be collect until 7 litre and the time for the water filled up
until 7 litre taken by using a stop watch.
- This experiment repeated for 3 times and average reading taken.
- Finally, the head inlet and outlet changed to the rough pipe and all the steps
before repeated.
- All the observations and results recorded.
