Mother Peter Three sisters

Work with the children to allocate characters and prepare a short performance. Discuss the
stage directions in advance and make sure the children understand how to follow the script.

Narrator 1: This is Peter Rabbit.


Peter is with his mother and three sisters.

Mother: Don’t go in the farmer’s garden.

Narrator 2: Peter’s sisters want some berries for dinner.


They go in their mother’s garden.

Narrator 1: Peter Rabbit wants some radishes. He goes


in the farmer’s garden.

Narrator 2: Peter eats lots of radishes.

Narrator 1: Oh no! The farmer sees Peter Rabbit.

Peter: Oh no!

(Peter runs away but the farmer runs after him.)

Narrator 2: Peter runs from the farmer.


The farmer runs after Peter.
The farmer cannot catch him.

(Peter runs in the shed.


The farmer runs after him.)

Narrator 1: Peter Rabbit runs in the shed. The farmer goes


in the shed, too. The farmer sees Peter!

(Peter runs out of the shed. The farmer runs


after him.)

Narrator 2: Peter Rabbit runs from the shed. The farmer


runs after Peter again. He cannot catch him.

(Peter runs out of the farmer’s garden and


keeps running.)

Narrator 1: Peter Rabbit runs from the farmer’s garden.


Peter runs and runs!

Narrator 2: Peter Rabbit goes home.

Mother: Go to bed! No dinner for you!

Narrator 1: Peter Rabbit goes to bed.
