Classroom Management:
A classroom management is defined as the methods and strategies that an educator
uses to maintain a classroom environment that is conducive to student success and
learning. Although there are many pedagogical strategies involved in managing a
classroom,a common denominator is making sure that students fee that they are in
an environment that allow them to achieve
Discipline:
A discipline is defined as the practice of training people to obey rules or a code of
behaviour ,using punishment to correct disobedience.
Difference between classroom management and discipline:
Classroom management;

● Management deals with how students do their work.


● Procedures are used to ensure students are productive & successful.
● Classroom management plans have procedures.
● Classroom management is an organization.
● Classroom management is not about discipline.
● Classroom management is about consistency and organization.
● Classroom management is all about effective teacher’s instructions.
● Classroom management is proactive.
● Classroom management has rewards as increased learning time.
● Classroom management promotes responsibilities.
● Produces predictable behaviour
Discipline;

● Discipline has penalties and rewards.
● Discipline is behaviour management.
● Discipline is all about how students behave.
● Rules are used to control students.

● Discipline is problem-driven.
● Discipline has negative consequences as punishments.
● Discipline promotes compliance.
● Discipline stops deviant behaviour.
Similarities between classroom management and discipline:
● Classroom management and discipline cannot be run by individuals, it
requires feedback.
● Classroom management and discipline both follow a plan.
● These both are in an organized way with outputs.
● For both a common goal is to make every individual civilized.
● These two always try to drive all individuals in positive direction.
● The main objective is to make environment effective and managed.
