Canada's day

The holiday was formally established in 1867 and originally called Dominion Day since that was Canada's legal
designation as part of the British Empire. The name was changed to Canada Day in October 1982. The day is often
celebrated with parades and open-air parties. Every year in the Canadian capital city of Ottawa there are grand
celebrations on the lawns of the national parliament buildings. Also, in other cities like Montreal and Toronto there are
some of the largest parades in the country.

The official ceremony in Ottawa

On July 1 you can find parades, fireworks, cultural events and cookouts in any city and town in the country.

The celebration kicks off with a traditional military parade in the city of Ottawa, in which members of the government
normally participate.

This official ceremony held in Ottawa is one of the almost mandatory appointments for any Canadian. There are many
who attend or watch on television this ceremony in which prominent representatives of the government of the day
participate.

The Canadian armed forces also gain prominence through an impressive air parade featuring the so-called Snowbirds,
the aerobatic team of the Canadian military air forces. An authentic spectacle that will leave you open-mouthed!

4. Compare the information that you researched with the Colombian way of celebrating this event. Present a parallel
with at least 5 differences and 5 similarities.
