Braveheart Project: Harnessing potentials for Human and capital

Development
For over a year brave heart project has worked to avert urgent human
development challenges that arises as a result of insurgency among internally
displaced persons at the north east region of Nigeria.

Although its existence is short but solutions proffered have been of

tremendous values to the beneficiaries most especially in the areas of health
information and services through mental health therapy, health advocacy
programs, human and capital development in selected refugee (IDP) camps
all these we feel are of noteworthy.

Our works has not only shaped host communities but has made us the builder
of futures full of possibilities among the internally displaced persons who
have heaved a great sigh of relief.

Achieving success in this project was not carried out in isolation, it evolved
from the untainted and unquenchable support and sponsorship from our
donors Grand Challenges Canada (GCC) and National Institute of Health
Research (NIHR), UK, community leaders and relentless volunteers who put
in their unflinching supports in harnessing the tremendous economic potential
of women, mothers, and husbands who were displaced.

Our mission which has been achieved to the optimum level was:

• To promote mental and physical health of refugees (IDPs)

• To destigmatize mental health and encourage young people to seek
help
• To train community mental health champions who would empower
young refugees with mental healthcare
• To equip young refugees/IDPs with entrepreneurial skills and their
products will be marketed will be market for their profit
• To empower young refugees with digital literacy and coding skills

And this cut across Africa.

The first phase of the Brave heart project will empower young people
with digital and entrepreneurship skills capturing over 2000 internally
displaced people in various IDPs camps respectively. We are applying all
effort required to ensure that no internally displaced persons in Africa will be
barricaded from reaching his/her highest potential regardless of the
challenges they might have encountered before now.
With the Braveheart project in existence as a tool to respond to mental
health, human and capital development challenges within the IDPs, with
every certainty we believe together we are ready to create futures of extra-
ordinary possibilities.
