MOOT PROBLEM 1

Ashok wanted to setup a flour mill. He had the mill, but did not have place to set up the mill.
Santosh had a vacant shop in the same locality where Ashok wanted to set up his mill. Ashok
approached Santosh and requested him to give that shop on lease. Santosh agreed to give the
shop on lease to Ashok for a period of ten years.

After ten years when the lease terminated, Ashok was vacating the shop by shifting his
belongings. When Ashok tried to remove the mill, Santosh objected saying that it is his property.
Ashok has instituted suit against Santosh.

The suit is before the First Additional Civil Judge, Belagavi, and is posted for the final hearing.

MOOT PROBLEM 2
Rajesh has made some remarks about his friend Karan in his private diary. In the absence of
Rajesh, his another friend Vineet took a copy of those remarks and shared on social media. The
remarks are false. Karan has instituted a suit for defamation against Rajesh and Vineet, Vineet
has remained ex parte.

The suit is posted for final hearing before the Principal Senioor Civil Judge, Belagavi.

MOOT PROBLEM 3
The parent Act required the State Government to constitute an Expert Board under the Act. The
parent Act empowers the State Government to make Rules in consultation with the Expert
Board. The State Government has not constituted the Expert Group, but has framed Rules. The
Rules are brought into force with effect from 12.4.2021. Swamy has challenged the Rules as
ultra vires.

The case is posted for final hearing before a Single Judge of the Karnataka High Court, Dharwad
Bench.
