MODULE 1: COURSE ORIENTATION

LESSON 1: COURSE OVERVIEW

(Must be accomplished by September 7, 2020)

ACTIVITY 1. (Independent Study)

1. What is the main delivery of this course?

The Learning Delivery Modalities Course 2 (LDM2) is a task-oriented course that

combines guided study using self-learning modules, co-learning, and collaboration
through the Learning Action Cell (LAC). The modules are designed for self-study,
to assist the learner wherein the lessons are self-contained and include readings
or video activities and reflection points.

2. How can this course help ensure that you will be able to deliver quality instruction
in the “new normal”?

This LDM2 Course will prepare me as a teacher with knowledge, skills, and
mindsets that would be necessary for the new school year in ensuring the delivery
of quality instruction in the “new normal.” Lessons on how to adapt to teaching
through alternative delivery modes were included to effectively reach and teach
our learners.

3. What are the two support mechanisms that will help you with your learning in this
course?

The two-support mechanism that will help me with my learning in this course are
the following:

1. The course itself, wherein I will be able to know the different learning delivery
modalities and platforms; to plan for the implementation of the school adopted
LDMs; and to prepare learning materials and resources needed for the LDM and
to execute the lessons in the new LDM.

2. LDM2 that is intended for teacher’s collaboration with co-teachers and

coaches for various points in the modules, we will need to congregate for LAC
Session to discuss a lesson and to collaborate on specific tasks.
ACTIVITY 2. (Independent Study)

Answer the following questions by copying and filling out the table in your Study
Notebook.

1. How will my personal characteristics and circumstances affect (positively or

negatively) my participation in this course?

Interaction with co-teachers through sharing views and opinions in different aspect
of teaching and discovering new learning strategies from peers affected my
personal characteristics and helped me in different circumstances positively.

2. How can I ensure that I am able to sustain my strengths and address the
obstacles that will hinder me from completing this course?

Identifying what my strength and weaknesses will find approaches to overcome

barriers that may obstruct in fulfilling the course.

ACTIVITY 3.

Reflections to the questions in Activities 1 and 2.

The purpose of Learning Delivery Modalities (LDM) course is to ensure that education
continues while maintaining the well-being of all learners, teachers and other DepEd
personnel/ services. Through this course I was be able to establish different instructional
methods that will aid me in delivering quality instruction with strengthened readiness in
producing remote / multi-modal learning and informed decision-making in identifying
appropriate Learning Delivery Modality.

The streams LDM1 and LDM2 are the two-support mechanism that I used as a guide
in learning this course in which the first, focuses on introducing and maintaining the
alternative learning delivery system at all levels of the education system and is intended for
school and division leaders while the second is intended for teachers and focuses primarily on
the educational consequences of using the alternative LDMs.

On developing my personal characteristics, I enlisted the good and bad habits that
affects my productivity, the obstacles that prevents me in achieving my goals and answered
what kind of environment I am most motivated and could work well. Through this simple
evaluation, I can simply recognize the weak points I should work on and the strengths that I
could maximize and use in delivering a good quality education.

In line of LDM2 Course, this advocacy of DepEd implies that every teacher should be
properly guided and equipped with the knowledge of the teaching learning processes through
revisiting or reviewing some areas/concerned in performing the duties and responsibilities of
an effective teachers. Successful teaching is a result of the systematic use of appropriate
strategies for delivering and assessing the learning objectives target for the lesson.
LESSON 2: ORGANIZING YOUR LEARNING ACTION CELL (LAC)
(LAC 1)
Topic: The facilitator must discuss the Learning Action Cell
Date: September 7, 2020

ACTIVITY 1.

Begin by refreshing your memory on the Learning Action Cell. Read DepEd
Order No. 35 s. 2016 titled “The Learning Action Cell as the K to 12 Basic Education
Program School-Based Continuing Professional Development Strategy for the
Improvement of Teaching and Learning.”

Once you’re done, answer the following questions. Write your responses and any
other ideas and reflections in your Study Notebook.

1. Reflect on the objectives for conducting LAC sessions as listed in DO 35, s. 2016.
Rank (1-4) the following objectives from easiest to the most difficult to achieve:

1 To improve the teaching-learning process to improve learning among students

3 To nurture successful teachers
2 To enable teachers to support each other to continuously improve their
content and pedagogical knowledge, practice, skills, and attitudes
4 To foster a professional collaborative spirit among School Heads, teachers,
and the community as a whole

2. What are the top three challenges to having a successful LAC? List down and
elaborate.

The three challenges to having a successful LAC are:

1. Planning
- identification of training needs or problems of school personnel
- setting desired objectives
- determining alternative strategies

2. Implementation
- employment of appropriate strategies (lectures, discussion, practicum, orientation,
meetings, critiquing, coaching, workshop)
- development of instructional materials

3. Evaluation
- determining performance efficacy (impact on students)
- assessments of training strategies
- application of skills learned in training
