and whatever you’re doing, let your Scania pride shine through.

Collectibles for grown-ups

Scania’s wide range of model vehicles are superbly made mini imitations of the real
thing, with authentic details that are a model collector’s dream. There are around 40
mini trucks, buses and vintage cars in the Scania model portfolio. “We want to show
vehicles from our various segments such as long haulage, urban and construction,
as well as from our heritage”, says Gun Fredriksson, Product Manager Corporate &
Franchise Products and Model Vehicles.

They come in two different scales (1:50 and 1:87) and have been developed in
cooperation with the designers from our R&D department that work daily with
developing our actual trucks. Their input is invaluable in terms of accuracy and the
models are based on the very same CAD models that are used for the real trucks.
The popular toy model vehicles are detailed plastic models that come in the two
scales 1:25 and 1:16.

From a detailed product idea until we have the model vehicles on the shelf it usually
takes 8-12 months. The production of the detailed model vehicles is a meticulous
precision work demanding skilled craftmanship.

New for 2019 are two new model trucks powered by gas; one being a garbage
collector truck and the other a small distribution box truck. In honour of the V8’s
50th anniversary, we also have two new models displaying this legendary truck.
One in classic V8 red with V8 anniversary golden striping, which is also available for
full size trucks in the Scania Vehicle Accessories styling assortment. And then a real
eye catcher: “One of the V8 truck’s exterior will come in gold finish”, says Fredriksson
and smiles: “There is a first time for everything.”
