Sample Speaking Cue Cards for Final Exam

Note: You will have to talk about the topic for two minutes. You will get one
minute to think about what you're going to say. You can make some notes to help
yourself if you wish.

1. Describe your favourite restaurant

You should say:
 where it is
 what it looks like inside and outside
 what kinds of foods they serve
 and explain what makes this restaurant so special to you and others.

2. Describe a happy event of your life.

You should say:
 what it was
 when it happened
 where it happened
 and explain why it was a happy event.

3. Describe your favourite movie.

You should say:
 What is the name of the movie/ film?
 What is the theme of the movie/ film?
 Why do you like it?
 and describe the story of the movie in brief.

4. Describe a famous person you know in your country

You should say:
 Who the person is
 Why he is famous
  What makes you mention specifically him/ her
 and describe what positive changes this person has brought to your
country.

5. Describe a shopping center you often go to

You should say:
 where the shopping center is
 how often you go there
 what it looks like
 and explain why you often go to this shopping center.

6. Describe your favourite animal

You Should Say:
 What kind of animal it is
 Describe it briefly
 Why you like the animal
 and describe why it is your favourite animal.
    How do you think of the poaching of some precious animals such as pandas?

7. Describe one of your neighbours

You Should Say:
 When you two become neighbours
 how often you meet him/her
 State whether your neighbour is a good person
 and explain why you like/ dislike this neighbour.

8. Tell me about your favourite music band.

You should say:
 what it is and why you like it
 how do people react to the music of this band
 when you first heard their songs
 and explain the necessity of listening music.
9. Talk about your favourite season in your country.
You should say:

 Why you like it
 Changes that happen and things you like to do during this season.
 And explain the season in brief.

 and explain why this person influenced you so much.

 how it changed people's lives
 the benefits it brought
 and say if it is more important for older or younger people.

 how you first heard of the book
 what is the main story of the book
 and why it plays such an important role in your life.

 when you took this decision
 What the result of the decision was and whether it was a good choice.
