1. Research and define what is Holocene Extinction in your own words.

- Holocene Extinction is basically humans terrorizing natural habitats resulting in the

extinction of species. This sickens me because what did those species do to deserve
that? It also sickens me that these still happens in the modern age. I remember
watching the news and seeing that the white rhino is extinct because of poaching. Like
why kill a majestic creature just for their horns? They say its for Chinese medicinal
purposes but that no way shape or form justifies the extinction of a species.

2. Identify 3 (Three) negative impacts of human beings to the earth and its environment
and elaborate.
a. As stated above, we destroy natural habitats and overhunt animals to extinction.
Why do humans do this? Is it for validation or the sheer thought of humans being
unstoppable.

b. Global warming, pollution is not only harming us, but also the animals and the
environment. Forest fires, water pollution, and melting of icebergs in the north
pole, all of them are slowly killing the animals and the environment.

c. Living in animal’s natural habitat, we humans need a place to live, but as the
population increases, we also need more places to live on, this results in us
forcefully moving in some animal’s habitat and stealing their homes by practices
like logging.
