= 0-OPD(Ozone Depletion Potential) Refrigerant, HFC-134a
HEC-134a is non-toxic and non-flammable refrigerant, and it has no harm on the ozone layer and less
greenhouse effect, which is 25% lower compared to that of R-22.
= Small Footprint and Easy Installation
Each 30SKB chiller is just 900mm deep. That contributes to the small footprint of the unit. The unit will be
ready for start-up by just connecting power wiring and water piping. Rigging holes are provided on the unit
for easy and quick rigging.
= Low Noise
30SKB chillers offer the features of low vibration and sound as well as high reliability by screw compression.
Moreover, each 30SKB180, 200, 250 and 300 is all covered with steel panels that contribute to shut off
noise.
™ High Efficiency and Wide Operating Range
‘The 30SKB adopted new designed highly efficient screw compressor(s) and flooded evaporator that also has
advantage for high efficient operation. Leaving water temperature is available from 5 to 20°C. Shell-and-
tube type condenser with highly efficiency in heat transfer enables wide operation with a little condensed
water.
= Wider Size Range
30SKB is available from 8 models with cooling capacity from 180 to 600kW. 30SKB can be used with central
air handling units, fan coils, or room terminals for office buildings, factories, shops, hospitals or hotels.
‘You can select the best size for your need.
™ Microprocessor Control
Capacity control is fully automatic. Leaving water temperature is precisely controlled by the microprocessor
for optimum operation based on the leaving water temperature differential between a cut-in or cutout
temperature and a set point.
= Remote Control
‘The unit can be controlled in remote by just connecting 24volt wiring to a remote ON-OFF switch.
In addition, unit operating conditions can be monitored by connecting to PIC.

Microprocessor based control system
Electrical power to 30SKB190-600 shall be 400V-3PH-50Hz and control power shall be 230 volts, single phase,
The low voltage (24V) control power is supplied through a transformer (100VA) installed in the control box.
‘The control circuit is protected by two 10A fuses.
+ Microprocessor-based water temperature control
(To maintain constant leaving water temperature.)
By computing the leaving water temp differential between a set-point and cut-in or cutout temperature based
on unit operating conditions (No. of running compressor, entering and leaving water temperature), the
microprocessor determines optimum capacity control steps.
Factory pre-set leaving water temperature is TC.
+ Low water temperature cutout
‘The thermostat is mounted on the water outlet piping of the cooler. For water freeze-up protection, it
activates to stop compressor operations when chilled water temperature drops to 2.
Push PB2 button for manual reset and subsequently push PB1 button for restart of unit.
+ Lockout circuit
Safeties shall include compressor overload relay and compressor discharge thermostat, low water
temperature cutout, high pressure switches and low pressure sensors.
When any fault is indicated , turn off the switch (the warning light goes off) and identify the cause.
‘The compressor will never restart unless this procedure is followed.
+ Flow sensor
If the chilled water supply is cut off for any reason, the chiller stops its operation to prevent the water in the
cooler from freezing up.
+ Water flow switch
‘A water flow switch (field supplied) should be installed in the water piping line to prevent the unit from
starting when water is not circulating through the cooler.
‘The flow switch should be connected to the terminals 12 and 13 in the control box.
+ Minimum operating time for compressor
Once compressor has started, it shall continue to run for a minimum 2 minutes regardless of thermostat
setting of water temperature unless a safety trips.
+ Compressor start delay timer and Time Guard
‘The starting of each compressor is controlled by the microprocessor. The compressors do not start
immediately after a start button is pushed. The Time Guard provides 3 minutes delay in restart of each
compressor to prevent short cycling,

When installing multiple units in parallel, allow a minimum of above mentioned clearance between units to
allow service mechanics to access to units.
-16-L
Application
Electric input at operation starting is much
larger than the input in the designed operation.
Electric capacity must be more than (MCAX
Voltage x V3). The fluctuation of power voltage
must be within 10% of rating. Unbalance of
voltage between lines should be within 3%.
Chilled water flow rate must be within
operating limit to prevent cooler from partial
water freezing and decrease of cooling capacity,
and corrosion on tubes or scale on pipes same as
for condenser.
Minimum water loop volume
Too frequent ON-OFF cycles caused by the
fluctuation of cooling water temperature affect
the longevity of the unit. Minimum water loop
volume must be held in tank and water piping.
And minimum water loop volume must be
calculated in the section of piping that holds
‘minimum water. (like in the case of bypass pipe
between headers or 3-way valve for bypassing
water and so on)
If ambient temperature is under 5°C, the unit
must be modified for year-around operation
model.
To prevent cooler or water piping from freezing,
never fail to fill water side with brine or pull all
water out when the unit is suspended without
power for a long time.
To hold appropriate oil pressure, keep
condensed water exit temperature at more than
25 °C . Especially in winter, control the
temperature of condensed water by 3-way valve
or ON-OFF of the cooling tower fans.
Chilled water exit temperature must be under
25°C when a unit starts operation. In the case of
water exit temperature even under 25°C but
over operation limit for more than one hour
because of large water volume like water
thermal storage, keep water temperature within
operation limit by bypassing water with 3-way
valve or something.
Water pump must be installed in inlet pipe to
each chiller. If it is necessary, install shut-off
valve to prevent water from falling out of heat
exchanger during pump not operating.
9. A strainer with screen size of no less than 20
mesh should be installed in the water inlet pipe
to keep foreign matters out of heat exchanger.
10. Compressors have oil filter inside. This oil filter
needs to be replaced periodically. Following
replacement condition coming, contact your
local dealer.
10.1 The first oil filter replacement is necessary
after unit operates for 1,000 hours or 6
months passes since first operation.
Routine oil filter replacement is necessary
at every 4,000 hours of compressor
operation or every 2 years after above-
mentioned replacement.
10.3 "A Lt” flashes on LED of control panel.
10.2
11, ON-OFF operation must be within 3-times in
one day. If multiple units are operated for
capacity control or rotational control, each unit
need some modification.
12. Use the pump operation signal of the unit for
the operation of chilled or condensed water
pump. The pump interlock works as cooler
freezing protection by extending pump
operation just after the unit operation stops, or
make automatic interval operation of pump by
sensing low water temperature when the switch
of the unit is OFF. And both pump contacts and
flow switch must be connected in series as
interlock circuit.
13. Management of chilled and condensed water
quality
Make sure of checking degradation of chilled
and condensed water in routine because that
would cause corrosion or scale, which may result,
in deterioration of cooling performance or some
failure. If necessary, adding anti-corrosive
chemical, deaeration or other effective anti-
corrosive process should be done.
