EQUALITY IS A MYTH:

 At least since the French Revolution, equality has served as one of the leading ideals of the body
politic;

 Equality isn’t just limited to color anymore. Equality relates to gender, caste, class, etc.
 The equality system in the world is yet to be declared flawless.
 Inequality is at the core of the caste system.
 The four-fold caste system- brahmins, kshatriyas, Vaishyas and shudras is traditionally rooted in the
Hindu caste system.
 Discrimination on the basis of class is evidently visible in India since the scheduled castes and
backward classes get preference over the general class citizens in jobs, admissions, etc.
 Equality isn’t color blind as discrimination on the basis of color is evidently seen in countries such as
the USA, India, etc. between the black people and the white people.
 Such discrimination is clearly seen in cases of recruitment or the restriction on entry of black people
in certain places.
 Companies advertise and sell ‘skin-whitening’ products pushing the idea of beauty that it equates
with lighter color skin and that lightening dark skin is both achievable and preferable.
