GRAMMAR TEACHER’S NOTES

2. Ask them to read through all the choices on the

maze and decide what they would do. Get them to
draw a line showing the pathway through the life
choices on the maze.

3. Get them to prepare a sentence for each choice

they made about things that would / wouldn’t have
happened if they had / hadn’t made each choice.
For example:

If I hadn’t gone to university, I wouldn’t have worked

in France.

or

If I’d taken the promotion, I would have worked

in London.

4. Then, give each student a second copy of the

reading maze. Put them in pairs or small groups and
get them to tell each other their sentences. They
should listen to their partner and draw in the path they
took through the choices.

5. Students compare paths to see if they have drawn

their partner’s pathway correctly.

Extension task: Students can write their own maze

and give it to their partner to complete.
