• The drill jig shown in Figure was built from a U-

shaped, premachined cast-iron section and a flat


section. It was built in 9.5 hours with a savings of 30% in
build time.

Drill jig made from a standard U-section

• The drill jig shown in Figure 5-18 was built from


standard structural form materials. It consists of
two pieces of angle iron welded to a channel iron
to form a V-section. A larger angle iron was welded
over the V-section to serve as a bushing plate and
clamping mount. The addition of a standard
thumbscrew, drill bushing, and section of rod
completed the assembly.
