HEINRICH LUITPOLD HIMMLER

 Born- October 7 1900


 Died- May 23 1945
 He joined the NAZI party in August 1923
 He participated in the Beer hall putsch
 He was appointed das the reichsfuhrer of the SS by Hitler (Jan 6 1929)
 He was considered the second most powerful man in the third reich
 He was one of the most important men in creating the infrastructure of the
Holocaust.
 When Germany invaded the soviet union in June 1941, Himmler was given the task
of eliminating the soviet system in the occupied areas
 He established the first concentration camp at Dachau and organized extermination
camps throughout occupied Europe
 Millions of Jews were slaughtered, used for forced labour and involuntary medical
experiments.
 Since the Germans were losing the war Himmler suffered from psychosomatic
illnesses.
 He secretly tried to negotiate his surrender with the commander in chief of the allied
forces.
 When Hitler received this information he stripped Himmler off all his posts.
 Disguised as a normal German soldier Himmler attempted to escape, when he was
arrested by the western allied forces.
 He Consumed cyanide poison and died on May 23.
