Scrapping Recruitment Process

SPECIAL RECRUITMENT DRIVE– TRAINEE PILOTS (CPL HOLDERS)

An advertisement was issued in September 2017 inviting applications from open market
for recruitment of Pilots under Special Recruitment Drive through Sr. Trainee Pilots
(With A-320 OR B-737 OR B-777 OR B-787 Endorsement) OR Trainee Pilots (CPL
Holders).

The global pandemic COVID-19 has resulted in extra-ordinary and exceptional

circumstances by gravely reducing the commercial functioning of the Company leading
to redundancies and also the financial condition of the Company is severely critical.

Further, the current operations of Air India are a small fraction of Pre-COVID level and
are unlikely to increase in the near foreseeable future. The Company is incurring huge
net losses and does not have the financial ability to pay.

In view of the foregoing, it has been decided by the Competent Authority not to go
ahead with the recruitment exercise of Trainee Pilots (CPL Holders).

Whenever the Company decides to induct Pilots from open market, advertisement for
the same will be released and backlog/shortfall of reserved vacancies will be taken care
of.

Application Fee of Rs.3,000/- deposited by the OBC candidates is being refunded

through Cheques shortly.
