Subject: For Ron Wen: Launch of Durham Delivers to Support Local Restaurants

Mr. Wen:

During this time of COVID-19, everything is uncertain, especially in the restaurant industry. Not
only are restaurants shutting down due to most dining rooms not being open, but delivery apps
are taking up to 30% of their profits. We have witnessed this first hand with many restaurants in
the Triangle Area. It is important we keep restaurants alive and join together. As you’ve said,
“tip well, be a patient customer and we will all get through this together.”

I read your “Restaurant and Dining Options as We Combat Coronavirus” post and I saw you
were looking for updated information on restaurants and deliveries during COVID-19. I believe
the launch of Durham Delivers’ would be an excellent addition to NC Triangle Dining Food
Blog. Durham Delivers was created solely to help local restaurants whose dining rooms closed
due to COVID-19. Durham Delivers groups orders at one location and time, and eliminates the
service fees charged by popular delivery apps, such as GrubHub and DoorDash. Durham
Delivers provides a financially viable option for independent restaurants, while adding new
delivery options for customers. Readers of NC Triangle Dining Food Blog would be supporting
their favorite local restaurants by helping them stay in business through Durham Delivers.

We are offering exclusive information regarding our launch on Sept. 10, so I would need to
know by Sept. 1 if you’re interested. I could help you arrange an interview over Zoom with the
co-founder of Durham Delivers, Cara Rousseau to discuss any questions you may have about
Durham Delivers.

Please let me know how I might be able to assist. My direct phone number is 443 605-2197.

Thank you for your time and consideration.
