2019/07/23 ‘SMCS - 30733167 Introduction ‘The load piston is used to control inital pressure, The intial pressure is the pressure when thé clutches are filed, The load piston also controls the top pressure. The top pressure is the pressure when the clutches are operating. The load piston is located inside the transmission hydraulic control valve Load Piston - Adjust (RENR8224) 107839576, WARNING Hydraulic oll pressure can remain in the hydraulic system on. this machine after the engine and pump have been stopped. ‘Serious injury can result f this pressure Is not released before any service is done on the hydraulic systems. In order to pprovent possible injury, release the hydraulic system pressure ‘before working on any fitting, hose, or hydraulic component. Lower all attachments to the ground before service is started. If the hydraulic system must be serviced, tested, or adjusted with the attachment in the raised position, the attachments ang lift cylinders must be supported properly. ‘Always move the machine to @ location away fromthe travel of ‘other machines. Be sure that other personnel are not near the ‘machine when the engine is running and tests or adjustments, are being made. NOTICE Caro must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during porformance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the machine, Be prepared to collect the fluid with ‘suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Dispose of all fuids according to local regulations and mandates. The pressure taps (P1) and (P2) are mounted on the top of the transmission. The load piston plug is located behind tap (P2) and threaded Ino the transmission control case Remove the load piston plug (LP). Install Tooling (A) on pressure tap (P1) and (P2), Start the engine. Warm the hydraulic ol to a minimum temperature of 85" + 5°C (185° # 9°F. (Operate the engine at LOW IDLE (700 rpm). Make sure that the transmission isin the NEUTRAL postion. (Check the pressure with tooling (A) at taps (P1) and (P2). The pressure at Tooling (A) on tap (P1) should be 530 + 35 kPa (77 + 5 psi) (initial pressure}, It the pressure isnot in the recommended range, add or remove spacers, Refer to Specifications, Systems Operation/Testing, and Adjusting, RENR8224, "Pressure Charts” Stop the engine. Install the load piston plug (LP). Star the engine. Warm the hydraulic ol to a minimum temperature of 85+ 5°C (185° + 9°F). Operate the engine at HIGH idle (1980 rpm), Make sure that the transmission isin the NEUTRAL poston. CCheck the pressure at Tooling (A) The pressure at Tooling (A) on tap (Pt) should be 2590 + 170 kPa (375 + 24 psi) (operating pressure) No adjustments are available. The pressure at Tooling (A) on tap (P2) (direction clutch) should be 380 + 35 kPa (55 + 5 psi) below the pressure at tap (P1}) 20. No adjustments forthe pressure are available for tap (P2). The pressure at tap (P2) is controled by the tap (P1) and the spring rate ofthe differential valve. 21. Operate the engine at LOW Idle (700 rpm). Make sure thatthe transmission isin the NEUTRAL position. 22. Check the pressure at tooling (A). The pressure on tooling (A) at HIGH idle 1p (Pt) should be a maximum of 480 kPa (70 psi) below the tap pressure at 23. Check the pressure at Tooling (A). The pressure at Tooling (A) on tap (P2) (direction clutch) should be 380 + 35 kPa (55 + 5 psi) below the: pressure at tap (P1}) 24, No adjustments are available for the pressure at tap (P2). The pressure is controlled by the tap (P1) and the spring rate ofthe differential valve, 25. Ifthe pressure at Tooling (A) is within the spectfied limit, the testis complete. 26.
