Use the specifications that ate giyén in the manual with the latest date PCTs Personal injury can result from machine movement. Perform the following stops before performing any tests or adjustments. The folowing test will determine ifthe electrical coil is energizing and ifthe plunger if shifting inorder to permit oil flow. Allow only approved personnel on the machine and keep other personnel off the machine and in clear view of the oper 4, Install tooling (A) to pressure tap (0) 5. Engage the parking brake and start the engine. Operate the engine at LOW IDLE. 6. Depress the service brake pedal and hold the service brake pedal. Release the parking brake. Press the downshift switch unt the transmission isin FIRST SPEED. Watch the pressure gauge and move the direction control switch from NEUTRAL to FORWARD. Note: The needle on the pressure gauge should drop. The needle should then return tothe original pressure, With the transmission in FORWARD, press the upshift switch through the remaining FORWARD speeds and retutn to FIRST SPEED. The same pressure drop should be noted in all speeds. This checks the operation of all the speed clutches. 7. Depress the service brake pedal and hold the service brake pedal. Release the parking brake. Press the downshift switch until the transmission isin FIRST SPEED. Move the direction control switch to the FORWARD positon. Note: Watch the pressure gauge and move the direction control switch to the REVERSE position. The needle on the gauge should drop. The needle should then return tothe original pressure. Now, move the direction contr switch back tothe FORWARD position. The same pressure drop should be noted. This checks the operation of both direction clutches, Note: Ifthe pressure drop can be seen, the solencid is functioning and the related electrical circuit is functioning Note: Ifthe pressure drop can not be seen, use a screwdriver to check the solenoid coil for electricity. If the screwdriver is attracted to the solenoid, this indicates that the col is energized. The problem isin the solenoid cartridge. Note: Ifthe screwdriver does not indicate thatthe coll is energized, the problem is in the electrical circuit Note: All tests and adjustments must be made with oilin the power train hydraulic system at normal temperature for operation, Couplings are installed on the powertrain hydraulic system. All ofthe pressure taps may not be shown in the photos, Do not connect or disconnect the couplings when there is pressure in the system.
