RESOLUTION TO APPROVE TWO HOMES TO EXCEED

THE BUDGET CAP OF $24,500. PER HOUSEHOLD IN ORDER
TO ADDRESS EMERGENCY AND NECESSARY REPAIRS

WHEREAS, the Town of Middletown is the recipient of a Community

Development Block Grant for income eligible owner occupied home repair. The Town of
Middletown set the budget cap of $24,500. per household.

WHEREAS, two homes have come in over the Town allotted amount. One bid came in at
$29,040. due to significant price changes in construction materials the project expenses
increased. The second bid came in at $21,500. but after work began, addition life and safety
hazards were discovered.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town of Middletown Town Board has

agreed to increase the budget cap to $32,690. for Schneider and $25,000. for Balcom in order to
address these emergency and/or necessary repairs.
