Evidencey: Cultural literacy around the world

The only experience outside the natural environment, in the country sites Puerto Salgar and
La Dorada, where I grew up and lived most of my life, was when I came to live and work here
in Bogotá.

Everything started when I finished my studies at SENA in 2011, I was 32 years old and and I had
the opportunity to do my internship in a pharmaceutical laboratory in Bogotá and by necessity
itself, I prepared to work in this city, Here I started living in Candelaria La Nueva in the town of
simon bolivar; a place and an experience completely new and challenging, since the
environment to which I used to live and develop, did not have so many things. La Dorada and
Puerto Salgar are quiet, without so much traffic and much more relaxed.

Being the capital of Colombia and also such a big city, Bogotá confronted me with a completely
different culture; the cinema, the transmilenio, the traffic, the insecurity, many other people
who came like me chasing an opportunity, the art, history, The cold weather, were and are
certainly aspects that challenged me.

This city is not defined by a single way of being or living of people, clearly people from this city,
has particular behaviors, but we are many who come from other parts and make the meaning
of this place.

Families in Bogotá used to live and have familiar time during weekends, where people visit
malls, parks, gardens and other turistic and open places. On the other hand, regarding
religion, people are mostly catholic which is the most common religion in Colombia.

People currently go to church on Sundays and celebrate holidays as any catholic and
colombian believer.

I really have enjoyed my time in this city, recently i started practicing biking, which is one of
the favorite sports for people nearby this region.

It has been a wonderful experience what i hope to finish just when it is necessary. I learned to
live with the difference and faced the challenges that Bogota offers.
