Subject: Regulating Greenhouse Gasses

Dear U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA),

I appreciate youYour work in fighting for the well being of the environment is recognized
by many around the world as well as by our team. and I am writing to you today because I know
that your organization could greatly benefit me our team as well as the public with additional
information about the actions being taken to fight environmental pollution.

Over the years it has become clear to the general public that global warming is affecting earth's
climate at an alarming rate, and that if we don't do anything to decrease our current production
of greenhouse gases it may lead to irreversible effects, the most important one being the
melting of our earth's glaciers that would potentially cause a rise in the sea level so high that it
could sink many coastal cities, adding to that glaciers make up about 69% of our fresh water on
earth and help irrigate crops for millions of farmers, we cannot afford to lose such a valuable
resource.

To combat global warming there has been a huge push for electric vehicles in recent years but I
believe it would not make much difference if the factories that produce these cars are producing
up to twice as much greenhouse gasses than it takes to build a standard internal combustion
engine (ice) car. Let’s take for example the studies found by Harvard's Association of
Environmental Studies and Sciences. According to them, the production of EV vehicles pollutes
twice as much as the production of Internal combustion engines (Ice cars). They also calculated
how long a newly bought electric car would take to break even with its internal combustion
engine (ice) counterpart assuming they were both bought the same day and driven 10,000 miles
under similar conditions. They concluded that it would take about 4 years for electric cars to
break even with their ice counterpart in the amount of total Greenhouse gasses being emitted
from the date of their production. I want to make it clear that electric cars themselves will barely
make a positive impact for the environment if the source of electric energy, production of
batteries, and recycling of batteries doesn't come from clean sources.

Therefore I would like to request additional information about your efforts in

regulating greenhouse gasses from industrial factories, electric cars, cargo ships, planes and oil
production itself, specifically oil fracking.

The information you can supply to me regarding this issue would greatly benefit me as
well as the general public’s awareness on this issue. I hope to hear from you soon. If you have
any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me by email or phone.

Thank you for your timeSincerely,

Nilay Singh
