SWOT ANALYSIS

STRENGTH
The qualification for the application for Parole is good as it ensure that all applicants are not
that dangerous or criminals who are convicted of heinous crimes. The criteria for the
disqualification for application for Parole is also well established. It ensures that those who will
undergo for Parole us not a threat to the community and to that, will give the community a
peace of mind.

WEAKNESS
The criteria for disqualification should include a wide range of crimes. It should look into the
gravity and the damage caused by the offense and not to the penalty attached therein.

OPPORTUNITY
The weaknesses or disadvantages of this rule can be eliminated by improving it through further
amendments to sustain the current situation.

THREATS
Some criminals who are more inclined to criminal activities which are considered to be light,
who committed a lot of these offense repeatedly but only punished for one crime due to some
reasons like technicalities in court proceedings and many more, can apply for parole and bring
threat to the society due to the policy of this rule.
