Probability-03

Question-3: 4 cards have been picked up from a deck of card. Find the
probability of the following events.

a. All cards are red in color.

b. All cards are spade
c. 2 red and 2 black
d. 3 spade and 1 dice

Solution:
We know, there are 52 cards in a deck.
Here, 4 cards have been picked up.
So, the total number of events: 52C4 = 270725

a. All cards are red in color.

Let the event name A

n(A) = 26C4 = 14950

𝟏𝟒𝟗𝟓𝟎
P (A) =
𝟐𝟕𝟎𝟕𝟐𝟓

b. All cards are spade

Let the event name B

n(B) = 13C4 = 715

𝟕𝟏𝟓
P (B) =
𝟐𝟕𝟎𝟕𝟐𝟓

c. 2 red and 2 black

Let the event name C
N(C)= (26C2 ×26C2) = (325×325) = 105625

𝟏𝟎𝟓𝟔𝟐𝟓
P(C) =
𝟐𝟕𝟎𝟕𝟐𝟓

d. 3 spade and 1 dice

Let the event name D

n(D) = (13C3 × 13C1) = (286 × 13) = 3718

𝟑𝟕𝟏𝟖
P(D) =
𝟐𝟕𝟎𝟕𝟐𝟓
