Extrase din proiectul “Teachers for SwanZ”

Please explain the context and the objectives of your project as well as the needs and target
groups to be addressed.Why should this project be carried out transnationally?

The Education and Training Monitor 2019 states that teachers are considered to have the
greatest impact on students’ learning outcomes. There is no data referring to the dance teaching
profession at European level and there are no studies referring to dance teachers in the partner
countries.
In 2017, Austria, Romania and Bulgaria were under the EU average (15%) in terms of
tertiary students following culture-related fields of education, according to Eurostat, with only
2% of the students following art specializations, including dance. The Dance Europe portal
(2020) lists 29 countries where pupils can study dance in summer schools, with Romania,
Austria and Bulgaria not being mentioned, because they don't have such offers.
The idea of this project started from a black and white context: on one hand, vocational
dance schools prepare children for some of the most sensible, responsible and beautiful
professions. On the other hand, in most countries, vocational schools are often neglected and
often affected by serious budget shortages.
A SWOT analysis conducted in the partner institutions revealed that: all partners face the
problem of an old, not updated teaching methodology; only 15 – 20% of the teachers consider
that their profession is appreciated by society; against an evolving technological background,
there is a high demand for continuous training for dance teachers.
In Austria, dance teachers' participation in continuous learning is above the EU average,
but there is still a serious need for upskilling. Bulgaria lacks a comprehensive system for
teachers' training and assessment. In 2016, Romania and Bulgaria (Cedefop) had
continuous professional development of VET teachers as strategic priorities - it did not apply to
dance teachers. Even if continuous teacher training is a right (National Education Law)
there are no such programmes in Romania for dance teachers.
There are no statistics referring to dance teachers, neither in Romania nor in the other
countries, teaching materials and methodologies are old, and the digital ones (like online learning
software) are nonexistent. The project intends to support the acquisition of skills and
competences for the dance teachers, digitalizing the dance classes and creating a better
connection among dance teachers – students – non-dance teachers. The project intends to
develop dance training, will increase the graduates opportunities of getting a job and will
offer them alternatives to performing.

The project's general objective:

- to develop the professional competences of dance teachers/trainers from the partner dance
institutions, through creating innovative education tools, raising the quality and
attractiveness of the dance teaching profession and strengthening the connections between the
dance training and the European dance professional labour market.

The project's specific objectives:

– to develop the knowledge regarding the new dance techniques, teaching methods and digital
instruments for dance teachers;
– improving the communication skills of the dance teachers in the partner institutions through a
transnational opportunity;
– enriching the dance and non-dance teachers communication and coaching skills for motivating
the students to learn;
– developing digital skills for dance teachers and students.

The main target groups of the project are dance teachers and trainers from the partner
institutions. The secondary target groups are non-dance teachers and dance students from the
partner institutions.
The project must be transnational because all partner countries identified the common
need to develop and update the professional competences of dance teachers in an unfortunate
context for arts, to prepare and train the young generation of teachers and to ensure the
integration of new technologies in choreography education and training. There is a need to fill
the gap of missing dance methodologies, manuals, practical guidelines and support the teachers
in connecting and communicating better with the colleagues teaching other subjects. Such a
project has no chance to succeed if each country takes individual measures because of a low
interest and of limited possibilities of the national systems to sustain dance education. The
transnational initiative will benefit from the expertise, strategies and policies in the field of dance
education and training at the partnership level. The partnership intends to offer the possibility of
testing, piloting, exchange and share a wide variety of new methods and instruments. By having
2 professional dance institutions partners (AT, RO2) the project creates a unique opportunity for
teachers and their students to present what they have learned in a transnational European work-
based environment. Because, for every artist, performing on stage in front of a public represents
the final validation.

What results are expected during the project and on its completion?

On its completion, the tangible results of the project will consist in:
– tools for approaching dance in an innovative way in the partner institutions;
– educational resources and materials for preparing dance teachers in their activities;
– a study referring to the dance educational market in the partner countries;
– case studies of dance teaching and training in partner countries;
– a project platform
– a manual and a course for training the dance teachers;
– a mini-guide for non-dance teachers;
– online information leaflets;
– EUROPASS certificates issued for each mobility to recognize the competences
developed by teachers and students;
– participation certificates issued by each institution to confirm the presence in the
activities;
– videos, photos, testimonials, interviews, articles in online and offline media.

TPM = Transnational project meetings: how often do you plan to meet, who will participate in
those meetings, where will they take place and what will be the goal?

There are going to be 2 transnational project meetings, both organised in Bucharest,

Romania. The kick-off meeting will take place in April 2021 and the close-up in Oct 2022.
Coordinators and contact persons from the 4 partner institutions will take part. The meetings will
be hosted by the Romanian partners who will provide a conference hall and all the
logistics. The agendas will be sent in advance. The minutes and the signed participants list will
be available after the meetings. The participants will receive certificates to confirm their taking
part in the events.

The kick-off’s main objective is to review and update the grounds for implementing the
project, to clarify expectations, roles and responsibilities. Partners will discuss about ensuring the
quality in management and implementation; the common plans will be reviewed and final
decisions will be taken regarding main aspects and adjustments, if needed.
The agenda will include: get to know each-other, a detailed overview of the project, an
intervention on the Erasmus+ rules strictly to be followed by all partners, a dialogue session with
the teams after going through all project activities. The participants will contribute with
suggestions on methods and solutions to address the topics discussed, from the means to insure
internal communication within the group to the planning, preparation, coordination, monitoring
of the activities, dissemination and evaluation, measures to avoid risks or to adjust different
steps, and to have an efficient budget administration. We will focus on reviewing the monitoring
and evaluation common plans, as well as communication and dissemination plans and we will
decide upon the most suitable common instruments we will use during these processes for
maximizing the impact at local, regional, national and international level.
The partners will bring updates and enhancements for the best implementation of the
project.A special attention will be given to the 3 intellectual outputs: the Virtual Learning
Laboratory, the Training Manual for dance teachers and the Mini-guide for non-dance teachers.
We will agree upon the working groups for the outputs and the specific tasks related to their
production with a highlight on creating quality, professional, open products, able to be
integrated in other schools activity, to offer positive solutions in the context of the severe lack of
dance teaching materials.
A distinct session will aim at establishing roles and responsibilities in regard with
planning, coordination, evaluation, preparation, dissemination. The structure of the Romanian
team will be presented by the coordinator. The partners will be invited to create local teams able
to cover different responsibilities (events, communication, dissemination, logistics, budget)
and how to get support from local stakeholders if needed.
To ensure a good communication flow among the teams, the participants will agree upon
several instruments, (the e-mail, WhatsApp group and the Facebook page). Interaction,
exchanging relevant data and experiences and posting of photos and information about their
schools and communities will be encouraged.
The main result will reflect in a good start of the project, in creating trust and a
collaborative atmosphere among the team members. The discussions will improve the
participants’ ability to work on solution-oriented approaches, to exercise their organizing and
planning skills and on their ability to understand and accept different cultural perspectives.

The close-up’s main goal will be to evaluate the implementation and management of the
project, to establish tasks and partnership rules for follow-up. The participants will assess:
- the working methods and the effectiveness of the instruments used during implementation
- how the team functioned: task distribution, measures taken for optimizing the working relations
- communication (internal/external) and its optimization for the follow-up activities
- how the monitoring process and exchange of information in this field worked
- the working groups that elaborated the intellectual outputs
- how the reporting phase went
- how risks were avoided
- how were implemented the changes
- the functioning and update of the web platform
- how budget management worked.
Other aspects to be considered: auto-evaluation, internal/external communication, the responses
of the financing authority regarding the partnership.
The event’s agenda will include:
- welcome speeches
- an overview of the implementation process
- a roundtable on good practices and experiences accumulated by each partner
- new opportunities for dissemination in order to cover a good quality follow-up for at least 2
more years
- closing remarks
- social programme.
The main result will consist in consolidating the partnership, exchanging experiences and
planning for future initiatives aiming at improving the sustainability of this strategic partnership
on dance education.

Teachers for SwanZ Virtual Learning Laboratory (e-Platform)
In the SWOT analysis conducted at each partner's level, prior to filling in the application
form, the institutions mentioned that:
– they have difficulties with communication and with the lack of motivation in some students;
– the school uses standard methods of teaching to a larger extent than it would be advisable for
the target group of 12 - 16 years old, digitally native;
– there is a lack of interest in some parents who reach the schools only by formal
communication.
Such elements come to support recent studies according to which: 97% students are more
motivated to learn with adaptive learning technology and 71% students prefer to engage more
with digital course materials (McGraw-Hill Education).
Taken this into consideration, we decided that a product coming to respond to all these
aspects - noted as weaknesses - is the Virtual Learning Laboratory – the online e-platform,
interface and the main gate that the project is going to open for the participants, partners and – to
a larger extent – to the representatives of the target groups involved (firstly, dance teachers and
students and secondly, general education teachers).
From our research, prior to applying, we saw that there is no such instrument available
for free for the teachers and young learners in Europe. There are some platforms dedicated to
dance learning but there is a fee that has to be paid for access and there is little interaction
between the teachers and the learners. Most teachers upload recorded videos and it is
impossible to give feedback to a learner when there is no interaction or when the teacher does
not see the learner.
The Virtual Learning Laboratory will have a range of features and functionalities that
will ease up both teaching and learning making it a very friendly „study buddy“ for the digital
natives belonging to the Z generations. The content will address directly the target groups
envisaged by the project (dance and non-dance teachers, dance students) and indirectly
some extended groups that might benefit and get informed by the content on the platform
(parents, non-dance students, media, general public, dance NGOs and companies,
universities etc.).
The subscribers (dance teachers and students, non-dance teachers and students) will be
able to learn:
- how to develop professional skills by leaning on the digital activities, exercises and videos
uploaded on the platform;
- how to prepare attractive classes for students and how to develop a more reliable connection
with them;
- how to present the results of their work to the community of parents, peers, collaborators and to
the general public (at local, national, regional and European level);
- how to be part of professional networks in the country of origin and abroad;
- how to adapt the learning online practices and to adjust them to the changing market;
- how and where to access grants and scholarships related to the dance profession;
- how to introduce dance in several non-dance subjects taught in general education.
The e-platform is going to include tolls for monitoring and evaluation like heatmaps and
analytics that will allow the administrators to track what the visitors read and did when they
were on certain pages. This will enable a better management of the platform, a quicker and better
response to the visitors needs (uploading more videos with the requested themes, going into
more details with some subjects, adding quizzes, self-assessment forms for evaluating soft skills
for dance teachers and students etc.)…………

The Virtual Learning Laboratory is going to be realised by a professional company with previous
expertise in working with educational platforms and content. All partners are going to produce
content for the Virtual Learning Laboratory………….

Teachers for SwanZ - Mini-Guide of Movement

„The Mini-Guide of Movement“ will support teachers in general education to use dance
as a tool for teaching and learning, helping them to maintain the students’ interest and extend
their attention span (demonstrated to cover only 20 seconds for the age group we are targeting:
12 – 16 years old). The Guide was inspired by the CLIL method in teaching languages
– so we thought of developing a CLID during the project implementation.
The Mini-Guide of Movement will introduce descriptions and definitions of basic
elements from classical ballet, contemporary and traditional/character dance and will be a
handbook for non-dance teachers to use when teaching subjects like STEM, languages etc.). In
other words, it will offer the opportunity of a multidisciplinary approach, using the nonverbal art
of dance that will be put into descriptive words and pictures.
Studies show that some STEM skills can be particularly improved by adding a more
dynamic approach: curiosity, critical and logical thinking, creativity or coding. And a good start
for the interconnection of general education subjects with dance can be represented by the use of
the five elements of dance and their appropriate integration into the contents of math,
physics, chemistry, geography, English and French lessons. There is a very close connection
between dance and French, for example, based on the dance terminology, deeply rooted in the
French dance vocabulary, from where it started to spread (to English, in the first place) starting
with the 16th century.
Here there are only some examples of exercises that will be included in the guide and will
be recommended to the following general education teachers. All the suggestions are based
on the discussions we had with non-dance teachers in the partner schools.
FOREIGN LANGUAGES: the students will be asked to make dance moves and then describe in
the language they learn what body parts were involved in those movements; building
parts of the lesson based on figures in ballet, the students can stand in front of the class, in
positions similar to those learned during the ballet classes and taking a bow; using dance
vocabulary, narrative dances, pathway cards, poems and stories to support the current class.
GEOGRAPHY – the discussion with the geography teachers raised their interest in the subject
and they are more than willing to work on the development of "dance geography"
content. Some suggestions include: a geographical reconfiguration of the European map by the
coverage of traditional dances (Spain will become the Flamenco country, Greece will
have sirtaki (among others), Italy will bring Tarantella and all its stories, Austria will be covered
by waltz and so on). There will be organised presentations of the dances and of their
particularities in teams of pupils. Exercising intellectual curiosity – while developing practical
and research activities – and problem solving skills will support the development of
students’ imagination, initiative, flexibility and the experimentation of new movements.
PHYSICS – the connections established between the laws of physics, such as: gravity, inertia,
friction, can be more easily assimilated when correlated to the students' own bodies, in
relation to space and time. They execute a series of movements and understand the importance
and effects of their actions in the surrounding reality. Also, the uniform circular motion
can be associated with the rotational movement in dance, with speed, chain movements, zigzags,
spiral movements. In physics, the students will be able to understand with more
clarity the law of balance by correctly placing their center of gravity and then maintaining it.
In BIOLOGY/ANATOMY – students will be provided with the necessary information about the
main muscle groups, skeletal system and ligaments and will be explained how these
muscular and bone systems leads to the development of an arabesque, for instance. Another
theme will focus upon the adolescent growth, a natural physiological phenomenon
specific to preadolescence. The students should understand why, during this period, it is
mandatory to increase the sustained effort curve; helping the skeletal system to maintain the
balance previously acquired during the training sessions.
In CHEMISTRY – students will understand why the increasing of lactic acid levels (producing
muscle soreness) appears very frequently at the beginning of the school year and why it
can be counteracted by higher consumption of Calcium and Vitamin C, taken from food or
supplements. Learning about remedies that can impact on the students’ eating habits will
move the learning process from theory to practice.
The approach will be extended to other subjects with the adequate content input from the partner
institutions.
The content will be available in English, Bulgarian, German and Romanian.
Please describe the division of work, the tasks leading to the production of the intellectual output
and the applied methodology.
All dance and non-dance teachers in the partner institutions (where there is the case) will
work together in identifying themes, extracting subjects, piloting exercises and writing about
the way dance can be used and involved in teaching different subjects in school. When and if
needed, experts in dance and in education at national level will be consulted and asked
to provide adequate information about applying dance in education at international level.
Each partner is going to explore if there are any projects or initiatives in the country they
represent focusing on dance in education.
The exercises will be piloted within the working group of the non-dance teachers.
The partners will agree upon the content and each one will translate the content into the
languages represented in the project: Bulgarian, German, and Romanian. The content
will also be available in English - the lingua franca of the project.
The Guide will be promoted in all partner countries, in all the dissemination events and in
the Multiplier event. A very small number of monolingual brochures will be available in printed
version (20 per language)………..

Training of Teachers/Trainers - ToT course (manual)

The Manual “Teachers for SwanZ” will be conceived as a written support of the Training
of Trainers (ToT) program for dance teachers. It will be elaborated by the 25 teachers involved
in our project, and will be an innovative, useful, open working instrument, available for other
interested teachers or persons dealing with dance education and training.
The idea to elaborate by common work such a manual started from a needs’ analysis in
all countries involved that showed a severe lack of manuals, practical guidelines, handouts for
the dance teachers, even if in some countries the schools use curricula approved by the Education
Ministries. Many schools still use very old materials, mostly related to classical ballet, without
any connection with the diversified and changing landscape of contemporary dance. The
situation is similar in public and private schools. The need to use teaching instruments is very
important, taking into account that all participating countries reported a real need to improve the
competences and skills of the dance teachers, to help them benefit from continuous education
during their carriers.
The target groups envisaged by the project team are the teachers from vocational schools
teaching choreography and different types of traditional and modern dances, but also dance
trainers and instructors working with children and youngsters in dance private studios, dance
academies, dance ensembles, cultural NGOs.
The elements of innovation brought by the manual will consist in co-creating a teaching
instrument for our times that will be used in printed and electronic formulas, addressing the
needs of a modern school system and targeting a new generation, the Z generation. It will be the
result of a common work, based on multiple perspectives and experiences brought by
the authors and their environment. The manual will provide not only theoretical information and
guidelines but also examples of practical exercises, ideas on how to adapt the classroom work to
the specificities of every type of dance, ideas on how to work with individuals or groups, on how
to train the learning capacity of the students and motivate them. The exercises proposed by the
manual will be tested in the classroom by all groups participating in the project.
We estimate the expected impact on the partner institutions will be positive, they will
demonstrate their capacity and talent to create a necessary education tool not only for their
schools, but also for other vocational schools in their countries dealing with choreography. The
impact on dance education systems will also be positive while the manual will include
modules on communication, intercultural education, soft skills, very useful for any other school
activities and projects.
An evaluation questionnaire regarding the manual will be used during the dissemination
events and also during the multiplier event in order to assess the users satisfaction. A similar
questionnaire will be also available online, as a web-form. It will be send to the extended mailing
list in order to promote the product and to test the level of satisfaction of the users.
We estimate that by the end of the project the course will be downloaded by at least 200 times.
We estimate the manual will have a high transferability potential due to some of its
characteristics: it will include many general principles and guidelines related to multiple types of
dance, it will rely very much on images, practical examples and exercises, also covering the
specific dances the partners teach in their schools/companies. It will be available in English
and it will contain excerpts in the partners’ languages. The material will be open and available to
specialists and to the general public. An added value in terms of expanding the dissemination
pool will be added by the visibility gained on the Erasmus+ dissemination platform where we
will post information about it.

We envisage all teachers involved in this project will contribute, according to their
capacity and talent, to the elaboration of the manual. Due to the fact they are mostly
practitioners, they will be free to consult persons with very high expertise in the field of
choreography teaching, from different universities and academies, from operas or famous
ensembles. On the occasion of the first transnational learning, teaching and training activity, to
be held in January 2021 in Bucharest, the teams will evaluate every person’s ability to
contribute, will establish persons responsible for different chapters and deadlines. The tasks
given will have correspondence with every chapter of the manual. Two persons from the
coordinating institution will process and harmonize all contributions. Consultations via e-mail
will be very frequent among the partner teams. During the transnational learning, teaching and
training activity, to be held in Vienna in April 2022 (maybe), the teams will work on the final
elements that will allow to finish the manual until 10 May 2022.
The applied methodology will combine “Waterfall project management method” (with
the development of sequential, linear stages to reach the final goals) and elements from the
“Agile method” (by breaking the requirements into smaller pieces, prioritizing them and working
on them collaboratively). That will insure a step by step approach focusing on every
component, a result oriented work, with strong elements of teamwork and collaboration between
the persons involved, without severe measures but allowing those partners that are
not able to follow the calendar rigorously to change roles inside their teams. In the process we
will test and train the teachers’ capacity to dialogue and their openness to learn from
each-other.
We consider this will be an appropriate methodology in order to develop the following
content to the manual:

LTTA – Learning, teaching and training activities (during mobilities)

C1 with pupils - Bucharest
Participation: SE MAI MODIFICA
AT: 7 students aged 14 - 16, 2 accompanying persons
BG: 7 students aged 14 -16, 2 accompanying persons
The Hellenic Union (RO2) will participate with 7 students aged 14 - 16 and 2 accompanying
persons. The coordinator will involve 10 students aged 13 – 16; 5 dance teachers and 5 non-
dance teachers.

The participants will be selected according to the common criteria elaborated during the
first project meeting, without any discrimination. We expect that the participants would be A2 in
English, but this is not going to be considered as a criterion as at least one member of the group
will be able to cover translation from and into English. Teachers will be selected based on their
willingness to participate and their professional relevant expertise.
Total number of participants: … (students, accompanying persons, and teachers).
The activities will be run in the premises of the coordinator and of the Hellenic Union.
The goals of the LTT will be:
1. To develop and update the competences of dance teachers/trainers by workshops in traditional
dances, the interference of styles, body language, connection between space – time – volume –
rhythm and music.
2. To improve the dance and non-dance teachers’ communication and coaching skills through
storytelling, public speaking and other methods.
3. To enhance the intercultural competences of the dance and non-dance teachers, so that they
can adapt to multicultural contexts offering them access to the learning environment in
another country.
4. To offer the teachers and students the opportunity of working and learning together while
creating dance pieces starting from traditional elements (dances, songs) and turning them
into contemporary products.
The working sessions will cover 4 full-days. The participants will arrive in Bucharest a
day before and will leave the day after the LTT is over. The working sessions on dance teaching
will be held every morning, in 3 separate halls, by teachers and trainers selected from the
participants’ groups. The contemporary methods will be compared with traditional methods,
and videos from partners will be used as working materials. Every afternoon will be held
sessions in communication, coaching and intercultural education alternatively, so that the
activities can be held both separately and also joined with teachers and students. The trainers will
be selected from experienced groups of professionals. During the last day there will
be organized visits to the National Opera and to the Museum of the Romanian Village, for
discussions with the staff on recent projects and for sharing experiences.
The results will consist in: working sessions in dance teaching/training; training sessions
in communication, coaching, intercultural communication; photos and short movies made during
the activities; engagements in media in all participant countries; a series of short performances in
unconventional spaces, where partners will be involved in preparing the space and in delivering
the shows (sound-light and music design, costumes, stage setting, directing, using multimedia
etc.)
Indicators (minimum values):
- 5 working sessions on dance teaching/ training (recorded, edited and uploaded on the project’s
platform)
- 2 performances created, recorded, edited and uploaded
- 3 training sessions on other topics with video - summaries
- 3 visits with local stakeholders
- 50 photos
- 5 movies
- 5 evaluation interviews with teachers
- 10 testimonials with students
- 20 articles in the media and on internet in the 4 participant countries.
Added value: the transdisciplinary approach of dance teaching, offering the participants
larger horizons, development of social skills and creating solid connections among dance and
non-dance teachers. The LTT will facilitate team work among all partners and will aim at
developing a sense of belonging to the same professional community. The participants will
become more aware of their professional level and will learn more about other European dance
schools. They will acquire the ability to transfer into each one’s social life their individual
aesthetics and their unique and authentic style. They will develop self-esteem and resilience,
which often put barriers in personal and professional growth.
Teachers and students, will be part of the feed-back and evaluating tasks by participating
in surveys and focus-groups. An evaluation meeting will be held during the last day with
interviews taken from teachers and students. A list of conclusions/ ideas/ proposals for the next
LTTs will be drawn at the end.
The visibility of the event will be insured through the media from Romania and on the
partner's blogs, web and Facebook pages.

C2 with teachers – Bucharest

Participants:
"Prof.V.Stoyanov" (BG): 4 dance teachers
“Ballet with Laura” (AT): 4 dance teachers
Hellenic Union (RO2): 4 dance trainers

The participants will be selected according to the criteria elaborated during the first
project meeting, without any discrimination. English will be required, but will not be the main
criterion for participation. The teachers will be chosen based on their willingness to participate
and their professional relevant expertise. They will be asked to fill in request forms during the
first half of December 2020. The selection will avoid any conflict of interests.
The total number of participants will be 26, with 10 participants from the RO coordinator.
The activities will be run at the premises of “Floria Capsali” and Hellenic Union of Romania.
The coordinator will transmit to the partners all logistic details from contacts, venue of activity,
map of Bucharest, travel, accommodation, documents needed, money, weather. They will ask the
groups if there are special needs, diet, allergies etc. All participants will be asked to have travel
and health insurances. The organisers will transmit an “info pack” providing all information via
email to the contact person of every participating group.
The goals of the short-term exchange will be:
1. To strengthen the competences and skills of the participant teachers/trainers by workshops on
strategic thinking in the dance education, the interaction between contemporary dance and ballet,
the co-creation between dancer and choreographer in dance teaching.
2. To exchange experience regarding new dance methods in modern dance, including synergies
voice – dance, interference of styles, body language, connection between space – time – volume
– rhythm and music.
3. To improve the dance teachers’ communication and coaching skills. To improve their team
working skills.
4. To enhance the intercultural competences of the dance teachers, so that they can adapt to
multicultural environments.
The working sessions will run for 4 days, 6 hours daily. The morning sessions will focus
on strategic thinking and the importance of technical and artistic level will facilitate dialogue on
how to harmonize dance schools curricula with future professional demands of the graduates.
The dance teacher as a co-creator – a topic to be discussed. Other sessions will focus
on the interaction between contemporary dance and ballet, improvisation, choreographic
composition and contemporary repertoire. An exchange of knowledge in the field of traditional
dances in the project countries, with rich traditions that are still alive or rediscovered.
Every afternoon, there will be sessions in communication, coaching skills and
intercultural education provided by experts in each field. In the last day, there will visits to the
Romanian Opera, the National Dance Centre and to the Museum of the Romanian Village, for
discussions with the staff on recent projects, experiences, possibilities to sustain more the dance
movement.
The results will consist in: improved competences and skills in dance teaching/training,
communication skills, coaching and emotional skills, intercultural skills. Improved experience in
linking school curricula to the demands of the labour market for dancers, in linking school
curricula to traditional dance and the community needs to express their identity and culture.
Exchange of experience between public and private ballet schools. Photos and short movies
made during the activities; visibility of the event in the media and on internet in all
participant countries.
Indicators (minimum):
- 4 working sessions on dance teaching/training, recorded, edited and uploaded on the project’s
platform
- 3 training sessions on other topics
- 3 video - summaries of the training sessions on other topics
- 3 visits/meetings with local stakeholders
- 20 photos
- 3 short movies
- 5 evaluation interviews with participants
- 10 articles, reports in the media and on internet.
The project’s added value will consist in the transdisciplinary approach of dance
teaching, the focus on the link with the labour market, offering the participants larger horizons,
improved professional and social skills. The project will facilitate team work and will stimulate
teachers’ motivation to learn. They will acquire the ability to transfer aesthetical values, to
find their individual, unique and authentic style. They will acquire an increased self-esteem and
resilience and new prospects to evolve.
The coordinator will ask for feed-back and will evaluate the activity. An evaluation
meeting will be held the last day, interviews with teachers will be made, an electronic survey will
be used. A list of conclusions/ideas/proposals for the next LTTs will be drawn.
The visibility of the event will be insured through the media from Romania and partner
countries, blogs, web and Facebook pages of the entities involved in the project and of other

How will you measure the previously mentioned impacts?

In terms of ACCOUNTABILITY, at each partner’s level and the the partnership level the
following indicators are going to be used to measure the QUANTITATIVE effects of the impact:
A) offline
- number of dance teachers involved in the project and in the follow-up activities
- number of general teachers involved in the project and in the follow-up activities
- number of dance students involved in the project and in the follow-up activities
- number of dance workshops organised
- number of events organised to disseminate the project’s results, the number of participants in
these events
- number or articles/posts/interviews in the printed media (at local, national, European level)
- number of new schools interested in the project’s results
- number of teachers/non-dance teachers and students in other schools in the partner countries
interested in the project and in the follow-up activities
B) online
- number of dance workshops uploaded on the platform
- traffic on the platform/institutional partners' webpages promoting the project
- number of posts, pictures, comments etc. in social media during/after the events
- number of followers and subscribers to the institutional pages related to the project
- number of engagements with our content in social media (Facebook, twitter, instagram) for the
project page/community (likes, comments and shares).
- number or articles/posts/interviews in the online media (at local, national, European level)
At each partner’s level and the the partnership level the following indicators are going to be used
to measure the QUALITATIVE effects of the impact:
- level of satisfaction of the teachers and students
- level of appreciation expressed by the audience at each event
Apart from all the quantitative and qualitative indicators that can be taken into account while
assessing the impact of a project that involves people who teach, learn and perform dance
or have any connection with this complex art, it is very important to keep in mind all the aspects
related to the risks they take most of the time, the way they take ownership of their
individual, pair and group work, how they become aware and understand their own thinking
processes, and how they decide to solve the problems that may appear.
We are expecting the following changes to take place for:
1) the participants in the project - dance and non-dance teachers: to become more aware of the
importance of staying connected to the European learning environment, to improve
their communication and language skills, to update their teaching methods to the latest available
developments and requirements (online teaching, empowering students, involving ICT
in dance education etc.), to find out more about other European education systems and to be able
to assess the level of their institutions and of themselves;
2) students participating in the project: to become more acquainted to the European education
environment (dance and general); to change experiences with their colleagues in other
countries, to understand the requirements of the European labour market for dance professionals,
to be aware of their role in society and to see how they are positioned in comparison
with their colleagues from other countries, to be able to learn and test different learning methods
and tools, to develop their self-awareness and to improve their communication skills;
3) partner institutions: to improve their management procedures and to become more aware of
the responsibilities they have towards their employees and students, to become more
open and more flexible, to offer alternative options for the graduates who do not become
professional dancers, to learn how to develop better connection and partnerships with other
European institutions and to learn to develop project-based activities;
4) peers and collaborators of the partner institutions: to be interested in the project results and to
implement the methods developed within the project
5) stakeholders in dance and general education, decision makers in partner countries: to become
aware of the benefits of dance education, to develop measures at national level in
order to introduce dance classes in general education, to start piloting small test-projects for a
more precise assessment of these benefits for disadvantaged students (either physically
or mentally);
6) parents and the wider local communities: to understand the power of dance and movement for
people of all ages and backgrounds, to be more motivated to involve themselves in
such activities, to be aware that the children's abilities to cooperate and collaborate can be easily
improved as a result of dancing together;
7) online and offline media: to support the promotion of the project results and to present case
studies and good practice examples inspired by the project.

Dissemination. You are requested to make plans for the dissemination of your project results.

For a project addressing performance on stage - in the long run - the importance of
gaining a wide audience cannot be perceived otherwise than with great interest. This is why,
planning the dissemination of the project results is of a crucial importance. The main reasons for
having a clear dissemination plan of the projects results - written and agreed upon by all partners
and going to be implemented with equal seriousness by them - are build on:
- the awareness that without dissemination our project results will remain unknown;
- the need of recognition for our work;
- the need that our collaborators, public and the community will validate our work;
- the need to be able to measure success at various stages of the project implementation and
during the follow-up phase.
The target groups inside the partnership will consist of:
- dance teachers in the partner institutions from RO, AT, BG - at least 40 at the partnership level;
- dance students in the partner institutions from RO, AT, BG - at least 80 at the partnership level;
- teachers in general education;
- the management teams in the partner institutions;
- students’ parents;
- teachers teaching other subjects at institutional level;
- peers and collaborators of the institutions involved in the project;
The target groups outside the partnership will consist of:
- dance teachers in other schools and training institutions from RO, AT, BG - at least 40 at the
partnership level;
- dance students in other schools and training institutions from RO, AT, BG - at least 80 at the
partnership level;
- teachers and students in general education;
- schools and training institutions - at least 12 at the partnership level;
- resources and training centers for teachers in the partner countries;
- online and offline media;
- public and private ballet and dance institutions and companies in the partner countries;
- general public.
It is very useful for our project that the Greek partner and one partner from Romania (the
Hellenic Union) are directly involved in the show business and are going to create a wider
context for the project results to be presented and exhibited. At the end of the
Learning/Teaching/Training (LTT) activities taking place in all partner countries there are going
to be organized mini-performances on stage - with public - so that teachers and students can
present the result that they have achieved during the meeting.
There is going to be one LTT organized per semester and between the LTTs each partner
is going to organize at least one online or offline dissemination activity.
The dissemination activities will support the visibility of the Erasmus+ Programme, the
benefits and opportunities it creates. The detailed dissemination plan is uploaded in this
application form.
