SUMMARY

Spiritual wellness acknowledges our search for deeper meaning in life. When we're
spiritually healthy, we feel more connected to not only a higher power, but to those
around us. We have more clarity when it comes to making everyday choices, and our
actions become more consistent with our beliefs and values.

We believe your whole health requires care and attention for not only your physical
body but also your mind and spirit. The benefits of spiritual well-being are numerous -
from more compassionate relationships to a deeper sense of inner peace.
As we age, it’s easy to feel socially isolated as lifelong friends or your spouse passes
on. It’s during these times people often question their life and reason for being. That’s
when having a spiritual community – church support group, grief group, etc. – can
become an important support system. The right group can relate to what you’re going
through and help you better understand how you’re feeling and what next steps you
should take.

ANALYSIS/SYNTHESIS
When relationships are not right, or are absent, we lack wholeness, or health; spiritual
disease can grip our hearts. The quality of relationships in each of the domains will vary
over time, or even be non-existent, depending on circumstances, effort and the personal
worldview and beliefs of the person. Not many people hold the view that they are sole
contributors to their own spiritual health (relationship in the Personal domain only); most
at least include relationships with others in their world-view of spiritual well-being. The
notion of progressive synergism implies that development of the Personal relationships
(related to meaning, purpose and values for life) is precursor to, but also enhanced by,
the development of the Communal relationships (of morality, culture and religion).

CONCLUSIONS
By periodically stepping away to reflect, you're better able to tap into your deepest
potential. You become aware of the choices you're making in every moment, and how
those choices shape who you are and affect those around you.
Cultivating a sense of self can both ground and inspire you to become who you were
meant to be: your best and truest self.
Your spiritual health is so important to your whole health. Spiritual practices of prayer,
reflection and mindfulness not only make us feel better - and sometimes even heal
faster - they help us become better people. Whether you have a deeply personal
spiritual practice or have never
