Crochet Bumblebee Pattern

F hook
Medium weight acrylic yarn (yellow, brown, white)
Safety eyes 10mm
Tapestry needle
Scissors
Stuffing (I use polyfil)

Optional: Plastic doll glass and knit scarf

Head: in yellow
Rnd 1: Start 6 sc in a magic ring [6]
Rnd 2: Work 2 sc in each st around [12]
Rnd 3: (Sc in next st, inc in next st) x 6 [18]
Rnd 4: (Sc in each of next 2 st, inc in next st) x 6 [24]
Rnd 5: (Sc in each of next 3 st, inc in next st) x 6 [30]
Rnd 6: (Sc in each of next 4 st, inc in next st) x 6 [36]
Rnd 7: (Sc in each of next 5 st, inc in next st) x 6 [42]
Rnd 8-Rnd15: sc in each (42sc)
Rnd 16: (Sc in each of next 5 st, dec) x 6 [36]
Rnd 17: (Sc in each of next 4 st, dec) x 6 [30]
Rnd 18: (Sc in each of next 3 st, dec) x 6 [24]

Fasten off leaving a tail. Weave in the tail! And place eyes. Eyes are placed between the 12th and 13th
row. They are spaced 6 crochets a part. Stuff head to desired firmness!

Body: starting in yellow and changing colors every 3 rows

Rnd 4: (Sc in each of next 2 st, inc in next st) x 3 [12] change to brown

Rnd 7: (Sc in each of next 5 st, inc in next st) x 3 [21]

Antennae: in brown, make two

Fasten off leaving a long tail to sew on head. Stuff body to desired firmness.

Wings: in white, make two


Rnd 1: 6 sc in a magic ring [6]
Rnd 2: Work 2 sc in each st around [12]
Rnd 3: (Sc in next st, inc in next st) x 6 [18]
Rnd 4: (Sc in each of next 2 st, inc in next st) x 6 [24]
Rnd 5: Sc in each st around [24]
Fasten off leaving a tail for sewing. Place to the side for now
Rnd 1: 6 sc in a magic ring [6]
Rnd 2: Work 2 sc in each st around [12]
Rnd 3: (Sc in next st, inc in next st) x 6 [18]
Rnd 4: Ss in each st around [18]
DO NOT FASTEN OFF!

Attach the first piece of the wing to the piece on your hook by single crocheting into the first stitch of
the next round on the other piece. *Take your hook and insert it into the st AFTER where you fastened
off the first piece, yarn over and pull through both stitches –stitch on piece one and stitch on piece two
yarn over and pull through both loops.*

Rnd 5: Sc in each st on both pieces that should now be connected [42] Take the long tail from the first
piece and sew up the gap between the two pieces.

Rnd 6: (Sc in each of next 5 st, dec) x 6


Rnd 7: (Sc in each of next 2 st, dec) repeat all the way around
Rnd 8: (Sc in each of next 2 st, dec) repeat all the way around
Rnd19: (Sc in each of next 2 st, dec) repeat all the way around

Fasten off and leave long tail to sew on back of bee’s body.

Sew all your pieces together and add accessories!

**I got my plastic glasses at Hobby Lobby in the doll-making area. And the scarf I made by knitting a
ribbed stitch until I reached the desired length for my bee’s body**
