Management Behaviour Activity

I have recently been involved in the induction of my first staff member and during it I have been
reminded of the policies and culture of the company as a whole. Whilst doing so, I tried to compare
these to the British values and I found a number of similarities.

Many of our policies, such as equal opportunities and health and safety, reinforce our employees’
awareness of their rights and their understanding of their safety whilst working for Handling
Concepts. By having these policies in place, we can ensure that the staff within the company have
formal support for their individual rights as employees. Our bullying and harassment policy also
makes it clear what we will and won’t tolerate when it comes to respecting colleagues.

Our company also abides by a set of rules which we call the 8 rules of the game. These are the rules
that determine out attitude and behaviour when working for Handling Concepts. I have attached the
list with their brief descriptions. Again, these rules encourage respecting one another, taking
responsibility for our actions and ensuring our individual rights and well-being.
