ABSTRACT

Ephemeralitation is Fuller's thought, states that life should do things simply, but the
results are great. God gives thoughts to humans to facilitate themselves to run life, not vice versa.
Fuller's views describe and analyze some of the problems in carrying out wedding ceremonies in
Bali, which are considered to waste time and money. The implementation of religious
ceremonies should not be burdensome for the people at this time, because the progress of science
and technology requires that young people compete in maintaining their existence. There are two
problems discussed in the discussion 1). What is the form of Ephemeralitation thought at a
marriage ceremony in Bali in the Perspective of Religious Commodification? 2). What are the
implications of Ephemeralitation thought at the marriage ceremony in Bali in the perspective of
the commodification of religion?

The theory used to analyze ephemeralitation at a marriage ceremony in Bali is the theory
of ephemeralitation from Fuller; Theory of Commodification of Religion; McDonald Theory
from Ritzer. The method used is descriptive qualitative. As for the results of the discussion,
ephemeralitation is a thought, method and solution for preserving traditions for the younger
generation, without leaving the daily work that has been transformed from agrarian to industrial.
Ephemeralitation is a new breakthrough in chanting and will be in demand, although at first it
was widely opposed, but the situation and conditions caused people to choose to do it. This
change did not just happen in the city; some villagers in Bali also chose to carry out marriage
ceremonies with the thought of ephemeralitation, so that the implementation of the wedding
ceremony was carried out without complicated. The implication of this thought, causing the time
to ngayah at the wedding ceremony, can be reduced, so that the stigma of Bali many holidays
and often leave, can be overcome. In addition it also has implications for the cost of marriage,
which is actually relatively cheaper and more efficient than traditional implementation, amidst
global competition and the workforce generation Z.
