It’s now or Never

Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) still has the support to Filipino athletes in different sporting
events.

The Philippine government today and they make the most out of it to support them but it is not
enough.

Based on the statistics, PSC is one of the Philippine agencies that have the least budget. This
only means that the government didn’t prioritized sports.

PSC chairman Ricardo Garcia knows that the present administration does not rank sports on the
top of its list.

Last year 2015 SEA Games is a proof that we lacked trainings. Having 200 million budget
compared to Singapore having 1 billion budget is just like David and Goliath in an arena.

We have the most talented athlete in the world but it was left behind by the government. They
competed to other competitions with their own expense.

The nation shows no hesitation in pointing their fingers at one direction when it comes to the
country’s failure in sports: most feel the government is to blame.
Athena in Modern Era

Princess warrior in Greek Mythology is like a God having supernatural strength.

Women in today’s generation are very different in olden times for they are in the house to take
care of their child and do the household chores. They are now more talented and competitive and can
face off man in different field.

Late President Cory Aquino, Melchora Aquino, Lydia de Vega and Ana “Hurricane” Julaton these
women are the attestation that they can do what man can do.

Politics, public service and most especially in sports women can do everything as long as there’s
a will to strive and give pride in her country.

Athena symbolized that women can do things beyond the expectation of anyone else. Just like
today there have equal treatment because it’s not about gender it’s all about desire of your heart to do
things that is imposible.
