PRACTICE

1. CHANGE THE SCENERY

Take the object you like and determine its usual context. Then, think about another
very broad context for it and change the scenery. Don’t forget to justify the new place
for your object.

2. EXPLORE THE POSSIBILITIES OF ONE OBJECT

Pick your hero (the main object) and think about at least 15 stories (15 different
photos). Think about ways you can change the object. After sketching your ideas, pick
one and add details. Think carefully about the composition and take the shot.

3. USE COLOR TO INSPIRE THE STORY

Pick one color and think about the emotions and objects associated with that color.
Then, pick a color palette based on your color and explain why you have that in your
photo.

4. CREATE A SEASONAL STILL LIFE WITH A TWIST

Start with making a list of associations and find the defining trait of the season. Visualize
it and try to think of things that make that season special.

5. FIND INSPIRATION FROM YOUR IDOLS

Take a second look at the work of your favorite artist/film director. Pay attention to
their pictures; find out what makes them unique and recognizable. Try to imitate their
style.
