(A general practitioner and his patient in the surgery)
Doctor :So, Mrs Sulastri, what’s your complaint?
Patient :I think there’s something wrong with my stomach. Every time I eat, I feel like
vomiting. I really feel unwell
Doctor :How long have you felt like this?
Patient :For about two days. I’ve taken some tablets, but they didn’t help. My stomach ache is
getting worse.
Doctor :Let me examine you, Mrs Sulastri. Please, lie down, here

Doctor :Does it hurt?
(The doctor is pressing the patient’s stomach)
Patient :Ouch! It’s very painful
Doctor :Okay, you can get up now. I’ll prescribe you some medicine to relieve the pain in
your stomach and I’ll give you a letter to a laboratory for a blood test to ascertain what’s
really wrong with you
Patient :It isn’t anything serious, is it?
Doctor :Don’t worry, Mrs Sulastri. Don’t think too much about it. Try to relax. Come to see me
again as soon as you have had the results of the blood test
Patient :Thank you, Doctor
