Introduction of Industrial Arts

Industrial Arts in the Philippines is an educational program which features fabrications of

objects in wood or metal using a variety of hand, power or machine tools. As I observe in
their presentations in Group 1. I learn a lot of things that there are different Industrial Arts
in the Philippines such as Carpentry, metal work, Masonry, Sewing and Glasswork.

Industrial Arts has an important role to play as part of general education in our modern
society. The primary of industrial arts education is to expose our students to a variety of
industrial and engineering technologies that improve their understanding of the industrial
world. Another purpose of studying industrial arts is to get our young students familiar
with tools, safety, repair as well as planning and techniques.

Industrial arts offer the student an opportunity to acquire some insights into various
technical and trade areas. These sights are important so they can have skills that will be
applicable and will be used for labor while studying.

As a teacher we need to be knowledgeable enough in these areas so that we can share what
we learn to our students.
