Present Continuous Infinitive to be working  He seems to be following us.
 He might be watching TV.
 He must be coming by bus.
 He seems to be living in this area.
 He pretended to be looking for a
book.
Perfect Infinitive to have worked  He should have helped her. (but he didn’t)
 I could have made a lot of money.
 He must have come this way; here are
his footprints.
 You needn’t have hurried. Now we
are too early.
 I happened to have driven that kind
of car before.
 He pretended to have read that book.
Perfect Continuous Infinitive to have been working  He seems to have been spying for
both sides.
 He couldn’t have been talking to
Tom. Tom wasn’t there.
 He pretended to have been studying.
Present Infinitive Passive to be done  He hopes to be offered a promotion.
Perfect Infinitive Passive to have been done  She is believed to have been
kidnapped.
