compressor bearing block

During the preflight check metallic parts have been found within the area of the air inlets of both engines. The following
inspection showed that these parts were parts of the bearing cage of one of the ball bearings of the air conditioning
compressor bearing block. Loose parts of the bearing cage have damaged the compressor stage of one of the two engines
to such an extent that a basic overhaul was necessary. Therefore, this Alert Service Bulletin specifies an inspection of the
affected ball bearing.

frame between rear structure tube and Fenestron housing for cracks

With Revision 02 the inspection interval for the ring farme is reduced from 100 fh to 25 fh. Additionally, the accomplishment
of Service Bulletin EC135–53–023 is prescribed. ------ During a preflight check a crack has been detected on one ring
frame which ran alongside one rivet row over about one third of the circumference of the ring frame. Therefore, this Alert
Service Bulletin prescribes a visual check / inspection of the ring frame for cracks.

hoist boom for cracks

After accomplishment of Service Bulletin 44307-500-03, Rev. 2 (Goodrich) the measures of Emergency Alert Service
Bulletin EC135-85A-036 are no longer applicable. ------ During a preflight check of the external mounted hoist system
cracks had been detected on the hoist boom.

"E"ASB 85A-040 Optional Equipment – External Mounted Hoist System – Replacement of


D-Lok hoist hook

ECD and Goodrich were informed that an unusual surface condition was discovered on a D-Lok hook. On July 9, 2009, the
EASA already issued Airworthiness Directive (AD) No. 2009-0148-E concerning these hooks. With this Emergency Alert
Service Bulletin the replacement of the affected D-Lok hooks is prescribed.
