Discuss two sources, one from external and one from internal of recruiting employees

with example.

Recruitment is finding or attracting applicants for the employers' vacant positions.


There are two sources of recruitment, internal and external sources. The internal sources of
recruitment mean filling open positions with inside candidates. In other words, seeking
applicants from inside the organization. And the external sources of recruitment mean hiring
people from outside the organization. In other words, seeking applicants from those who are
external to the organization.

One of the methods of internal source can be Rehiring. Many employers encourage
internal recruiting, on the reasonable assumption that doing so improves employee
engagement. Former employees are known quantities and are already familiar with how
things to be done. On the other hand, employees who you let go may return with negative
attitudes. Inquiry should be done before rehiring, like about the reason what they did during
the layoff and how they feel about returning. After a probationary period, credit them with
the years of service they had accumulated before they left.
For example: Founder of Apple, Steve Jobs was rehired when Apple lost its track in
the market and rehiring him was the best decision made by the Top management back then.
For which Apple is still now holding its prestige in the market for the strategies Steve Jobs
used. By this Apple proved that rehiring employees are well aware of the company's policies,
activities and its objectives.

On the other side, external source can electronic recruitment, in electronic recruitment
information about the career is posted in company websites, social medias and job sites.
External sources are mainly used for entry level positions. Electronic recruitment can be
costly and time consuming. E-recruitment is not so successful for smaller and less well-
known organizations.

For example: Brac Bank is hiring management trainee officer through electronic
recruitment posted in LinkedIn and in company website, where they are using ATS tracking
software Taleo for shortlisting the candidates, which is costly. This recruitment is mainly for
entry level position holders. Electronic recruitment is used to reach among all the candidates
of the region where they can appoint smart candidates and appoint them in a fair way.
