Summary

A study of a pediatric case was carried out, which was taken from the IESS Santo
Domingo General Hospital, in which it was a child of 8 years and 2 months, with a
clinical picture of 3 days of evolution characterized by epigastric pain of mild intensity
5 / 10, without irradiation, which is based on the ingestion of chamomile infusion and
10 ml of paracetamol, is accompanied by a thermal rise of 38 ° C, upon admission the
patient remains feverish and vomiting is added due to an occasion of gastric content in
little amount, chills and general malaise.

The day after his arrival at the hospital, FrThe patient is hemodynamically stable,
afebrile, hydrated, diuresis present, no signs of bleeding in paraclinics, rising platelets
are evidenced, no hemoconcentration, elevated liver enzymes, low albumin, with
negative dengue despite patient symptoms, an abdominal echo will be sent and
intravenous fluids are regulated.

The patient was in the hospital for 3 days in which he underwent IGM - immunology
dengue tests, in which all obtained negative results. The patient was on the sixth day of
clinical evolution, it was decided to discharge him from hospital, without ruling out
dengue due to the clinical picture.
