How We Will Do It

1. Brainstorming- You will use a 4 Square to work on brainstorming for your story.
2. Write a Rough Draft- You will write/type a first draft of your story, use the 4 square as
your guide
3. Proofread- You will read your story orally to yourself or to a partner to edit your rough
copy. Make corrections in red ink/on computer.
4. Conference with an adult in the classroom; make corrections.
5. Print or write final copy; you can make a cover page.

Other Things to Remember—1.5 spacing, 12 or 14 pt. font


 Write with plenty of detail and description; remember Mt. Plot.
 Introduce characters, setting, and problem at the beginning of the story
 Indent a new paragraph for each new speaker, new character, change in setting, or
change in major plot event
 Your rough copy of story should be approximately 1-3 pages long.
 After you are finished typing your story, you may do a cover page to go with your story
The cover should have your:
 Name
 Date
 Title
 Picture or design.
