Place support (2) for the microscope and slit projector in a vertical position, and set down the rotary axis on it using the joystick. + Remove the binocular tube with eyepieces. (Hold the tube and undo the hex socket head screw (3) ‘* Insert the cover in the opening. + Fasten hex socket head screw (3) with adhesive tape to make sure it is not lost. Ifthe slit moves horizontally to the left and right, move the base towards the projection plane using the joystick, Until the slit remains stationary when you tum the slit projector. The aiming beam which is visible at the same time must be positioned at the center of the slit and sharply defined. YAG laser (5) Check the concentricity of the YAG laser and aiming laser, and confirm it in the installation report. * Attach a piece of exposed and developed photo paper to the head rest to provide a projection plane. + Enter an energy value of approx. 0.5 mJ at the display. ‘© Move the slit lamp towards the target plane using the joystick, while observing the four-point aiming beam. The focus has been reached when the four points have merged into one. * Press the trigger button ‘The aiming beam and shot image must be ‘concentric. Installation instructions Issue: 2006-03-08 'SM-30-8022-A3-6n Replaces issue: 13.07.2004 Page 12 of 17 Energy distribution (6) Check the uniform energy distribution and confirm it in the installation report. * Attach a piece of exposed and developed photo paper to the head rest to provide a projection plane. * Enter an energy value of approx. & 0.8 mJ at the display. * Move the slit lamp towards the target plane using the joystick, until the aiming beam is sharply defined. * Continue to move the slit lamp towards 1. Good mode image, uniform energy distribution the target plane and press the trigger button. ‘+ Focus the target plane to view the shot image. 2. Vary the distance from the target plane until a ‘meaningful image has been obtained. 3. Focus shift, 0 position (7) Check the focus shift and enter the result in the installation report. + Insert the focus shift adjustment device in the appropriate opening in the shaft of the slit lamp. ‘© Set the focus shift switch to the 0 position. ‘* Set your prescription on the diopter scale of the eyepieces. The shots must increase in diameter. + Refocus the aiming beam using the micrometer screw of the focus shift device When focusing, always adjust the screw in the clockwise direction to eliminate the backlash of the micrometer screw. * Press the trigger button. * Tum the micrometer screw clockwise by 100 um and trigger the next shot. * Repeat this procedure 5x. * The shots must increase in diameter. Tolerance: +/- 25 um Focus shift, posterior (7) * Set the focus shift switch to the POST position. * Use the micrometer screw of the focus shift device to focus the aiming beam. ‘When focusing, always adjust the screw in the counterclockwise direction to eliminate the backlash of the micrometer screw. Aiming Beam ‘+ Enter an energy value of approx. 0.3 mJ at the display. ‘* Press the trigger button. + Tum the micrometer screw counterclockwise by 100 um and trigger the next shot. Repeal this procedure about 10x. This means that, with 6 intervals, the focus shift value totals 150 ym Tolerance: +/- 25 ym Focus shift, anterior (7) * Set the focus shift switch to the ANT position. + Use the micrometer screw of the focus shift device to focus the aiming beam. When focusing, always adjust the screw in the clockwise direction to eliminate the backlash of the micrometer screw. Enter an energy value of approx. 0.3 mJ on the display. + Press the trigger button. * Tum the micrometer screw clockwise by 100 jum and trigger the next shot. Repeat this procedure about 10x. * Count the intervals between the smallest and largest shots, starting at the largest shot (aiming beam focus). ‘Aiming Bary * Every interval corresponds to 25 ym. This means that, with 6 intervals, the focus st value totals 150 ym. Tolerance: +/- 25 um Installation Instructions Issue: 2006-03-08 'SM-90-8022-A3-0n Replaces issue: 13.07.2004 Page 15 of 7 Energy measurement (8) Use filter position 22 (100 % transmission) to & measure the energy. + Aitach the sensor for energy measurement (LMP 5) to the head rest of the laser slit lamp. ‘+ Activate the aiming beam. ‘* Focus the aiming beam onto the sensor surface. * Defocus towards the sensor until the spacing of the 4 aiming points 8.10 mm on the sensor is, approx. 8... 10 mm. * Set the highest energy level (22) in the service mode. * Perform the measurement 10 x and enter the measured values in the -external- column, * Every measured value on the power meter is associated with a value determined by the system's energy sensor. This value can be read from the display in the service mode ("Energy real") and must be entered in the -internal- column. Perform the measurements in the Pulse 1, Burst 2 and Burst 3 modes. * Calculate the mean value of all values of a column. Calculate the deviation using the following formula: Internal mean value ~ External mean value Deviation in % = x 100 External mean value If the deviation between internal and external is > +10%, an adjustment procedure needs to be performed (see SM-30-6022-A4).
