Welcome Back!
As we start the new school year, I wanted
to give you all a more information on what
this school year will look like. I’m looking
forward to meeting you all.

ACADEMICS FIELD TRIPS

This year, students begin learning to read.
They will begin by learning the sounds that
each letters make. By the end of the year,
they should be able to read short stories that
are at grade level. Along with reading, we
will learn how to add and subtract within 2-
digit numbers. We will also learn how to tell
time and read calendars. Science class will
consist of learning about weather and
different plants and animals. There will be
time set aside each week to create art
projects in which the materials will be
provided.
We have many field trips planned for the
year, including a trip to the zoo, hiking and
observing plants and insects at a local nature
center, and visiting an apple orchard. If you
would like to sign up as a chaperone for any
of these field trips, you may fill out a
volunteer form at the main office that we
will keep on file. More information will be
sent out regarding field trips as they near.

We are going to have an incredibly fun and exciting

school year together. If you have any questions, or
