- SMS means Safety Management System and it is a systematic approach to managing

safety, including the necessary organizational structures, accountabilities, policies and
procedures. The importance of SMS in the field of aviation is that it helps in maintaining the
implementation of safety management procedures.

2. What is the difference between SMS and QMS?

- The difference between SMS and QMS is that the Safety Management System’s objective
lies aviation safety focused while Quality Management System is focused towards
Customer Satisfaction.
