1.

INT. ROOM - DAY

James wakes up from his sleep. His head hurts. The room is pitch
black and he has a hard time seeing. James blindly walks across
the room, feeling the walls for the light switch.

RINA
Di ka makakaalis dito.

James opens the light as soon as he looks at the direction of

where the voice came from. A girl sitting with her legs crossed,
looking straight at him in a sassy way.

JAMES
Uhmm.. sino ka?
James is perplexed.
RINA
Importante paba yon kung lahat
Naman tayo dito ay mamatay.
Diba?

RINA raises an eyebrow, arms crossed.

James is still confused.
Silence.

QUINN
Ang ingay ingay nyo naman!

Quinn scratches her messy hair as she awakes.

Quinn looks around in confusion.

QUINN
Anong nangyayari? Bat nandito kayo?
Sino sino ba kayo?

James and Rina just stare at Quinn. Quinn’s eyes widen.

NATE
Wag tayo matakot, ahh
Sakit ng ulo ko! Shit!

NATE suddenly stands up and walks back and forth unable to calm
himself as Nate puts his hands around his head.

QUINN
Anong meron!? Anong ginawa nyo sakin!

Quinn cries out, and looks at the surroundings. Quinn notices

that LESTER is still sleeping and nudges him.

QUINN
Ui! Gising!

James looks at everyone while talking. He raises his arms and

tries to calm everyone.

JAMES
Kalma lang tayo. Di natin alam anong
nangyayari. Pareparehas lang tayo.

Rina starts rocking her legs.

RINA
Sino nagsaabi.

Says as she looks away from them.

Lester finally wakes up and is oblivious of what’s happening.

LESTER
Nasan ako!??

Lester panics and hyperventilates.

Suddenly a LOUD noise erupts from outside the room making

everyone pay attention and look at the door.

LESTER
Ayoko na dito… please

Lester whimpers in fear… as he rocks back and forth.

NATE
Magpatatag ka! Di tayo susuko okay?

Nate holds Lester in the face and reassures him that everything
will be fine; he gives him a pat on the back.
 3.
James comes over to Lester and crouches next to him.

JAMES
Okay ka lang?

Lester suddenly has a migraine; he puts his hands around his

head as he screams in sudden pain.

BEGIN FLASHACK:

EXT. STREET-DAY

Lester is seen surrounded by several people. They are talking to

one another while Lester is down on the ground.

PERSON1
Sugurin na yan!

PERSON2
Wag! Wag pa dapat tinatakot muna
Diba? Para masaya, di naman yan
lalaban. Hahaha.

Lester flinches and just buries his face in his arms, afraid,
and finds solace in the dark,

END FLASHACK:

INT. ROOM - DAY

QUINN
Oi! Tulala ka na naman!

Quinn snaps her fingers to wake Lester. Lester just nods and
gives a half smile.

JAMES
Oh. Mag ayos na tayo.

Loud noises are heard from the door. This time the knob turns.
Everyone looks at the door. Rina’s leg continues to shake but is
now more at unease. Rina stares at the ground.
 4.

BEGIN FLASHACK:

INT. CLASSROOM - DAY

Bell rings. Rina sits down in a classroom table and waits.

A professor stands and hands Rina a paper.

PROFESSOR
Alam kong nagaral ka ng mabuti.
Gabi gabi nagpupuyat ka diba?

Rina is elated and smiles at the professor. The professor smiles

back.
RINA
Ilang araw ko na po nirereview ang lahat.
Para naman po to sa scholarship.
Yung subject nyo nalang po ang hihintay
Nnming mag-ina para maka-qualify.

The professor smiles and hands over the test paper. Rina cannot
contain the excitement. Rina suddenly cries.

The test paper score is seen. Rina scored 60/100. A score just
below passing.
PROFESSOR(V.O)
I’m sorry. Di ka talaga pang scholar.

END FLASHACK:

INT. CLASSROOM – DAY

While everyone plans on what to do, Rina suddenly bursts out

saying.

RINA
Di ako aalis dito.
Sawang sawa na ako mangarap,

Rina gets teary eyed.

QUINN
Hindi! Aalis tayo! Babagal nyo kasi!
 5.
Quinn goes to the door and gets a hammer. Quinn then tries to
force it open. Quinn tries to open the door once and the door
suddenly makes a cracking sound.

Quinn stares at it for a moment and sees the door open just a
bit.

BEGIN FLASHACK:

EXT. SCHOOL - SIDEWALK - NIGHT

Quinn is among friends and laughs with them as they talk when a
fellow student charges towards them.

STUDENT1
Pinagkatiwalaan kita! Akala ko
ba naiintindihan moko!

The student throws a crumbled paper in the floor towards Quinn.

Quinn picks the paper up and runs straight for the student.

QUINN
Wag kang maniwala sa sinasabi nila!

STUDENT1
Wala! Pahamak ka!

The student runs to cross the street when a car screeching can
be heard.

Quinn is frozen in place. She stares at the accident that just

happened and is speechless. She breathes heavily.

A car’s light fills the screen.

END FLASHACK:

INT. ROOM - DAY

NATE
Wag ka pang umalis! Kelangan
ka namin dito.
 6.

James rushes to Quinn and grabs the hammer from her.

A loud noise comes from outside the room. The banging comes
closer and the door is opening.

JAMES
Tulong!

James goes for the door as both the outside force and he try to
open and close the door.
RINA
Tutulong ako!

Rina rushes towards Nate and helps him close the door.

Quinn stares at the door while she is frozen in fear.

LESTER
Isarado nyo na yan! Pagod na ako
ayokong lumaban!

Lester cries out.

Nate is shocked, his eyes widen and he immediately stands up.

NATE
Kelangan natin tumakas dito!

Nate says as he prepares things to bring outside.

RINA
Wag! Di natin kakayanin.
Masyadong masama ang mundo sa labas.

The door is now closed but the banging becomes louder and the
door knob keeps on moving.

QUIN
Natakot ako sa nakita ko sa labas.
Di ko na kelangan magisip kung ano ba
ang dapat ang ginawa ko! Ayoko ng
mahusga ng mga tao sa labas.

Lester finally stands and stands near Quinn nodding at James as

they both look at him.
 7.

NATE
Ano bang pinagsasabi nyo!

Nate is left standing with Rina as Quinn, Lester, and James

stays put.

QUIN
Ikaw ba’t ka nandyan!

Quinn scolds Rina. Pointing at her. Rina flinches.

QUIN
Di ka ba nasasawang gumawa ng isang
bagay na kahit gaano mong ginagawa ang best
mo di parin sapat! Diba?

Rina looks down and cries. James keeps looking around to each
side of the group as he is unable to handle the situation.

Rina finally sides with Quinn and Lester as she walks to their
side.
NATE
Wag! Kelangan natin umalis dito!

Nate cries in desperation as he holds out an arm.

BEGIN FLASHACK:

EXT. STREET - NIGHT

Nate just got out from a bar and notices a girl struggling with
a man.

GIRL
Bitiwan moko! Sabing bitaw!

Nate tries to ignore the scene. But, he stops closes his eyes
and takes a deep breath. Nate then decides to rush toward the
scene.
NATE
Bitiwan mo sya! Ngayon na!

The masked man looks at Nate in the face.

MUGGER
Sige papatayin kita!
 8.

Nate grabs the mugger’s knife and is able to throw it at the

street. The mugger runs.

Nate helps the girl get up and she smiles at him.

GIRL
Thank you talaga!

They both stare at another for a while, as the girl gives him a
kiss on the cheek. The girl then waves goodbye to Nate. He
notices that she has a ring on her finger.

He smiles back and walks away satisfied.

END FLASHACK:

INT. ROOM - NIGHT

James is seen between Quinn, Lester, Rina and Nate at the other
side.
NATE
James! Wag kang susuko.
Marami pang mangyayari sa buhay mo.
Pagsusubok lang to.

Nate’s desperate plea to James.

They all look at the door, as the noise worsens.

QUINN
Wag kayong umalis! Baliw ka ba?
Di mo ba naririnig yun?

It’s a tug of war between Nate and the others as they push and
pull James.

EXT. GARDEN – NIGHT

James looks surprised as Nate opens the door. The place looks
outside looks beautiful and the noise stops.

NATE
Diba sabi ko sayo. Maganda dito.
Di naman laging masaaya ang buhay.
Expect mo na may pataas at pababa.
 9.
Nate grins. James looks behind him and sees the others smiling.

QUINN
Iwanan mo na kami. Kaya mo na yan.

RINA
Basta tandaan mo na pag dumating
Ulit kami sa buhay mo, alam mo na
ang gagawin, okay?

Rina smiles at James.

LESTER
Wag kang matulad sakin ha.
Lumaban ka. Hangga’t humihinga ka.

James nods and smiles at them.

He then looks at the outside and steps through the door.

Light shines through the screen.

The banging noise gets louder and louder.
FADE TO WHITE:

INT. ROOM - DAY

James is seen sitting down a chair a noose hangs right above

him. His head is slouched as he looks to the ground.

A loud banging of the door as voices can be heard outside the

room.

A group of people open the door and rush towards James.

Quinn, Lester, Rina and Nate all go in the room towards James.

James slowly puts his head up, eyes red, teary eyed. Looks
towards them and he stares for a moment at them and smiles.

FADE TO BLACK:
