Abstract:

FLAME DETECTOR

A flame detector is a sensor design to detect and respond to the presence of flame or fire.
Responses to a detected flame depend on the installation but can include sounding an alarm
deactivating a fuel line and activating a fire suppression system.

When fire burns it emits a small amount of infra red light. This light will be received by
photo diode on the sensor module then we use Op-Amp to check for change in voltage across
the IR receiver, so that if a fire is detected the output pin will give 0V.And if there is no fire
the output pin will be 5V.In this we are using IR based flame sensor. It is based on YG1006
sensor , which is a high speed and high sensitive NPN silicon photo transistor. This module
consist of photo diode , resister, capacitor, potentiometer and LM393 comparator in an
integrated circuit.

After detecting the fire it has to send the notification to a nearby fire brigade. It has to convey
the information about the location fire accident. Depending on the level of damage, it has to
contact one or more fire brigades. If needed it must also notify the ambulance.
