I. Introduction
A physical field trip allows students to experience the much more serendipitous nature of the real
world. Students can follow different pathways and discover what piques their interests, making the
field experience a discovery-prone situation, it also gives them the opportunity to meaningfully
construct knowledge and understand the material while guiding their learning
As students see, feel, touch and hear, they better assimilate, understand and link the new
information to that which they previously know. Students in effect actively construct knowledge and
understanding with guidance from teachers during field trips and by so doing, the student’s
knowledge widens and deepens as they continue to build new links between new information and
experiences and their existing knowledge base.
PAGASA Tanay Station, an Upper air and synoptic station providing data for pagasa Weather
opened their station to agricultural engineering students to demonstrate the data weather recording
procedure and instruments that they uses. That will help hydrology and soil and water engineering
subjects that were taken by the students to understand concepts and principles that encompasses
these subjects to actual field work.
II. Objectives
To gain knowledge and experience in meteorological field works
To gain practical understanding in weather pattern identification

The PAGASA weather station in Tanay is equipped with modern tools in determining
weather parameters that applies hydrological principle that affects soil and water
engineering.
