Staff scheduling and rostering problem have applications in several areas, which have been
widely addressed by researchers in transportation systems. The quantitative research
literature hasn’t provided enough information on the same regarding the hospitality sector.
This paper tries to give some insights on the application of staff scheduling and rostering
problems in hospitality management operations, and reviewing the other existing approaches
in these areas. These approaches include nurse rostering or tour scheduling. One of the
reasons for the lack of research articles focusing on the above problems regarding the
hospitality sector is perhaps due to the Lack of an agreed and generally accepted definition
of hospitality. [ CITATION Roc12 \l 16393 ]
