THE WORK OF A HIGHLY TALENTED ARCHITECT

Opened on June 29, 1989, the Canadian Museum of History is the work of celebrated
Canadian architect Douglas Cardinal. The structure draws its inspiration from how
Canada must have looked thousands of years ago. It is in many ways a monumental
sculpture representing the Canadian landscape at the end of the last Ice Age.
