Part of eye Function

Cornea to refract, or bend, light.

Iris controls the amount of light that enters into the eye.

Lens to focus light rays onto the retina.

Retina to receive light that the lens has focused, convert the light into neural
signals, and send these signals on to the brain for visual recognition.

Optic Nerve to transfer visual information from the retina to the vision centers of the
brain via electrical impulses.

Blind Spot where the optic nerve enters the eye and hence no rod or cones cells lie
over the spot,

Distant accomodation is the process of changing the shape of the lens to focus on distant
objects.During this process the lens becomes thicker, this allows the light rays to refract (bend)
more strongly. To focus on a distant object – the lens is pulled thin, this allows the light rays to
refract slightly.
