TOPIC: INFLUENCE OF SOCIAL MEDIA ON BUSINESS PROJECTS:

INTRODUCTION: Social Media is a growing and evolving platform. It has eventually become a
part of everyone’s life the young adults to the grandparents everyone has access to the media world.
Also the pandemic has led to an increase in its engagement. Social Media has multiple positive
impacts on business in terms of brand recognition, customer engagement, and revenue and customer
service. It helps you to understand the competitor’s as well. In my paper I’ll talk about different social
media platform and their impact on businesses and different companies that has successfully created a
brand name by using social media.

1. YOUTUBE:
 YOUTUBE is a video creation platform and it had become a very important marketing
strategy nowadays it is cheaper and faster and the company holds a lot of independence in the
marketing strategy.
 Companies create small videos that are fun, interesting and informative about their products
and upload on YouTube. This way they get closer to their customers as it’s a two way
communication. Customers can share their view points through likes and comments.
 There are many companies that does paid promotion and brand endorsement on YOUTUBE
in different forms.
 Companies can either put advertisement on different videos and popularize their product or
they can do paid sponsorship with popular influencers where they send their products to them
and the creators make it a part of their video,

COMPANIES:
i. ASIAN PAINTS : Asian paints has their own YouTube channel with around 980k
subscribers and they make videos that creates an emotional impact on people like a
series called Asian Paints where the heart is in which they featured homes of different
celebrities like late SUSHANT SIGH RAJPUT ,TAMANNAH BHATIA etc.
ii. KWALITY WALLS: They advertise their product on YouTube by putting the ads
on different videos. Their videos are very eye catching and repetitive. You can see
their add at the beginning of all the videos when they launch a new product. Like
#purplecone was trending on YouTube when they launched their UNICORNETTO.

2. INSTAGARAM: INSTAGRAM can be highly targetable, visual marketing channel for a


brand and an opportunity to build a loyal audience that grows with your business. Over 500
million Instagram users browse the app every day.
 ‘BLOG’ writing and brand collaboration with popular bloggers that has a loyal
audience who listens to them is a way to reach the target market on Instagram. It is a
hub for small business owners. People starting from the age of 16 runs a business in
Instagram. Business owners create a pleasing page with high quality pictures and
video to grab attention of the audience.
 Its latest update has SHOP TAB that allows users to discover and purchase from
brands directly. There you can also add tags to the products in their photos with Price
and the ability to show now.

COMPANIES:
i. STARBUCKS: Starbucks has over 17 million followers that regularly brings in images of
followers and makes them a part of its brand story. This way they connect more with their
audience
ii. GOPRO: GoPro’s has over 18million Instagram followers. Its Instagram features some of the
most dramatic shots captured illustrating the versatility of their product.
iii. MAMAEARTH: Mammaearth is a very new Indian brand with around 1million followers in
just 2-3years. The main marketing strategy of mama earth is influencer marketing. Suppose
an Influencer who had an acne prone skin shows that the Mammaearth product has helped
them to get a clear and beautiful skin. Now the people who follows this influencer blindly will
believe and purchase the product which will in turn create sales and profit for
MAMMAEARTH.

3. FACEBOOK :
 Facebook is the “old is gold” social media platform. It has the most diversity when it comes
to the audience. From our grandma’s generation to our generation. Thus the presence of small
business in Facebook helps them to reach a wide variety of potential customers.
 Creation of business page: Usually small businesses have a business page with all the
information about their product and their agenda. The more followers they gain the more
reach they have.
 Business Groups: Business groups is the specialty of Facebook. In these groups many small
businesses come together as a community and create a community with their customers. All
the owners post pictures of their product with the price and quality and the interested
customers buy from them.
 Facebook Live: There are enormous number of small businesses that have grown because of
Facebook live . In this live videos the owner starts the live and shows their product and
everyone can go join the live, ask question, share their opinions etc. It is a great way to
communicate with the target customers.
COMPANIES :
i. NIKE: It has over 33.7 million likes. It maintains a very strong brand image,
which resonates throughout their Facebook page. The have the most famous
slogan and holds onto its popularity through cover photos, photos shared and
branded hashtags.
ii. SMALL BOUTIQUES: Every small boutique has their Facebook business
page where they come live share pictures of their beautiful sarees, kurtis etc.
Share pictures of their customers to gain more trust from the audience.
During the pandemic these business owners has grabbed the the opportunity
and made online shopping a big hit.

 CONCLUSION: The social media has helped a lot of businesses to grow , reach and connect
with their customers . The pandemic has also played ahuge role in the development of online
businesses in the social media platform.
