ANNEXURE - A

TECHNICAL NOTES FOR M.S. PLATES

1. The plates supplied shall confirm to IS 2062: 1992.

2. Chemical composition, physical properties, tests, dimensions, tolerances,


and marking shall confirm to the relevant plate specification.

3. Steel shall be manufactured by any process of steel making except


Besemer process.

4. All the finished steel plates shall be well and cleanly rolled to the
dimensions, sections and masses specified. The finished material shall
be reasonably free from surface flaws, laminations, rough/jagged and
imperfect edges, and all other harmful defects.

5. Max. carbon content for MS plates shall be 0.22% with maximum variation
over the specified limit of 0.02%.

6. Tests reports shall be supplied for all mandatory tests viz. tensile, yield,
elongation, bend and Impact (Charpy V-notch) as per the material
specifications.

7. In inquiry weight is mentioned approximately. However we require exact


no of plates as mentioned along with each plate size. Final weight will be
mentioned as per no. of plates only. Vendor to mention size wise weight of
plate to workout total weight.

8. Pre-dispatch inspection will be carried out by GNFC inspector or by third


party inspector to verify all mill test certificates, heat marks and plate
dimensions.

Notes:

Vendor shall categorically confirm all the above points since otherwise
the offer shall not be accepted.
